Liar - Betty Cooper

So this is a day late, unedited, basically just a mess. We had crazy turbulence on the plane ride so I didn't get any work done (because I'm high key very scared of flying) but I have the entire gangs imagines done now! Archie's will be up next, on Saturday!

The truth hurts for a little while, but a lie hurts forever.

"Hey, Jug, have you seen Betty?" You asked, approaching the raven haired boy sitting in the lounge. You watched his face heat up, a faint blush covering his cheeks.

"Uhm, no. I haven't," He stuttered, and you raised your eyebrows.

"Okay, thanks," You muttered, walking away.

You finally found Betty with Veronica, sitting at the familiar table outside. You grinned, approaching them. You sat down at the table, both of them giving you a smile. You leaned over and pecked Betty's cheek, then smiled at Veronica.

"Have you guys talked to Jughead today? He was acting really weird when I saw him," You said. Betty opened her mouth, a blush similar to Jughead's covering her cheeks.

"I haven't seen him all day," Veronica quickly interjected, getting your attention off Betty. You bit your lip, nodding.

You watched how Betty and Jughead interacted throughout the rest of the day, noticing the flirty comments and unnecessary touching that continued to happen. You walked out of your final class, turning to the left to see Jughead and Betty just down the hall, awfully close. Suddenly, Archie, Veronica and Kevin all jumped in front of you, grinning far too wide.

"Hey (y/n), we're all going to go to Pop's, want to come?" Archie asked. You tried to look around them, but Jughead and Betty were gone. You looked up at them, tears gathering in your eyes.

"No," You muttered, pushing them to the side. You stalked off down the hall, searching for Betty. You finally saw her leaving the Blue and Gold office, her usually perfect ponytail ever so slightly messed up.

"Hey, Betty!" You greeted, watching as she jumped.

"Oh, god, babe. You scared me," She said, her face twisting into a look of worry. You glanced into the window of the door, noticing Jughead sitting inside, a smug look on his face. You turned back to Betty, shaking your head.

"Betty?" You started, and she turned to you. "Are you cheating on me?"

Betty laughed, almost too loud.

"No, of course not! I love you," She promised, placing her hands on your face. You nodded, not fully believing her. She kissed you gently, before rushing off down the hallway.

"I gotta go, I'll call you later!"

You walked into Pop's, seeing your entire group of friends sitting in a booth. You approached the counter, giving Pop a light smile.

"Order for (y/l/n)?" You said, and he nodded.

"Of course, (y/n). It'll just be a few minutes."

You turned around, looking at your friends and girlfriend. You could barely hear the conversation, so you strained to listen in.

"We can't keep covering for you guys," Veronica exclaimed.

"Yeah, we feel terrible. You guys need to either end things or tell her what's going on," Archie continued.

"Look, we didn't want to put you guys in this situation," Betty assured them.

"But (y/n) will hate both of us if she finds out," Jughead argued.

"The longer you wait, the more it's going to hurt, and she probably won't forgive you," Kevin added.

"I'm sorry, but I'm not willing to lose my best friend because of you two." Veronica pointed a finger at Betty and Jughead accusingly. "I'm never covering for you guys again. And if you don't end things or talk to her within three days, I'm telling her myself."

"Veronica-" Betty started.

"No, Betty. What you're doing is wrong, and she doesn't deserve to be treated so terribly." Veronica stood up, storming from the diner. She didn't even notice you standing there, so you continued listening.

"I agree with Veronica. If you guys don't tell her, I will," Kevin threatened, before standing up as well. You turned around so that he wouldn't notice you, before turning back to look at the table.

"You guys are my best friends, but what you're doing to (y/n) is one of the worst things you can do to someone. I'm with Kevin and Ronnie." Archie followed their footsteps, exiting the diner. You took a deep breath, watching as Jughead kissed Betty gently, placing his hands over hers. You stormed over, stopping beside their booth. They pulled away, looking up at you. Fear crawled across their features, and you shook your head. Tears streamed down your face rapidly, and you turned to Betty.

"You're a liar," You whispered. "You lied to me."

"(y/n), please," Betty started.

"No, Betty. We're done. This-" You gestured to her and Jughead. "Doesn't have to be a secret anymore. Congratulations."

You turned around, grabbing the bag of food from the counter. You left the diner, walking back home, thinking of ways on how to mend your broken heart.
