Yay this one's on time! I was having troubles with the wifi at my cottage and I was so so nervous that I wouldn't update in time! Next up is a requested imagine, then I'll be doing second parts. Reminder that I'm only writing them if there is a request to do so (which there is on most) but make sure you comment if you want a second part!

warnings: cheating, making out

the italics are flashbacks, by the way.

I hope she breaks your heart.

Two years. Two years ago, Veronica Lodge asked you to be her girlfriend. And now here you were, three months into senior year. You sat silently as your friends gossiped about god knows what, trying to keep your composure.

Your heart thumped as you laid your head on Veronica's chest, her fingers running through your hair softly.

"You know, I already how I'm going to propose to you," She said, and you smiled.

"Yeah?"

"Yeah, but I can't tell you. It's a secret."

"Alright, Ronnie."

"(y/n)?" You suddenly heard, and you looked up at Betty.

"Yeah?" You asked.

"Are you okay?"

You sighed, putting on a tight-lipped smile.

"Fine."

"Oh, wait!" Archie suddenly exclaimed, causing you to switch your gaze to him. His face faltered as he placed a hand over yours, and you knew he had remembered.

"What?" Betty asked, before her face twisted into realization. You shrugged, giving them an almost genuine smile.

"It's fine. It's been months," You promised, pulling your hand out from under Archie's.

"It doesn't make it okay," Betty added, putting her hand on your shoulder. You turned around, seeing the person who had broken your heart six months ago. She still held the hand of the girl you had walked in on her with, grinning towards her. You felt your heart stop for a second, before noticing that Veronica had switched her gaze to look at you. She stopped laughing, biting her lip before turning around and walking off. You returned your gaze to the concerned duo in front of you.

"I'm fine." You stood quickly, making your way back into the school. You gripped your purse tighter than you meant to, causing your knuckles to go white. You passed Veronica's locker as you walked down the hallway, seeing the flowers attached to it with a piece of paper reading "Happy six months, Ronnie!".

You shook your head, forcing yourself to see that as you were grieving the date of your anniversary and break up, she was celebrating another one.

"Veronica!" You cried, squealing as you felt the egg drip onto your face. "You are so on!"

You tossed a handful of flour at her, causing her to duck and run from her kitchen. You flung the egg off of your head, groaning as you followed her into her bedroom. You hugged her from behind, rubbing your head onto hers. She laughed, turning around to try and stop you. You pushed her onto her bed, smiling. She brought her lips up to yours, and you gratefully kissed back.

"I love you," She mumbled, and you felt your cheeks heat up.

"I love you too."

You stormed into your room, not bothering to respond to your mother welcoming you home. You sat on your bed, rummaging under your mattress. You finally pulled out what you were looking for, all the photos of you and Veronica that she had begged you to get rid of once you broke up. You couldn't bring yourself to throw them out, so you opted for hiding them. Not like Veronica would ever be at your house again, never would she be adding on to the great memories that you already had. You flipped through them, finding the photo from your one year anniversary. You were both dressed to the nines, grinning widely at the camera. You wiped a tear from your face as you heard a voice.

"I still have that photo, too."

You looked up, seeing Veronica standing in your doorway. You didn't bother to hide the photos, only placing them beside you.

"Why are you here, Veronica?" You asked, pain evident in your voice. "Shouldn't you be celebrating?"

"No, no. Seeing you today really changed things for me," She started, and you scoffed.

"How so?"

"For six months I thought I made the right choice by not running after you when you caught me in bed with someone else. I figured you would get over it, you would be okay. I thought I would be okay," She whispered the last part, and you glanced at her. She had tears gathered in her eyes, as she fumbled for words.

"Seeing you today made me see that neither of us are okay. I was pushing away how I felt about you by being with her, until today. She found a photo us of that I had in my locker, telling me that I never smiled that wide in the photos we took together. And it's because I love you, (y/n)," She continued, and you felt your heart leap.

"Ronnie," You trailed off. "I can't."

"(y/n)-"

"No, Veronica. You told me you were going to marry me, you told me you loved me. And then you broke my heart," You whispered. "Look, maybe I can forgive you, but I'll never forget what you did."

She nodded, knowing that there was no point in arguing. You had made up your mind, and she couldn't change that. She placed an arm around your waist, kissing your cheek gently. You almost relaxed into the familiar touch, but you didn't have time before she had stood up, and walked out of your bedroom door. You looked back down at the photo, wishing that you could do the whole relationship over again.
