☠️POSChap14: Tough Love☠️
(First Person POV)
It's strange isn't it? To meet someone you didn't think would become so important to you. They became the center of your very being. They became more than a friend. More than a lover, and just so much more! The world didn't even match their greatness. That's how I feel about Erik. I haven't seen him since when Christine and Raoul had left after the chandelier crashed. Tho the fire was eating at the opera house, below I was with Erik as he took Christine and Raoul.
[Flashback]
"Erik!" I yelled as I scrambled down into the lair. I coughed violently from the smoke of the fire. I ran and looked for any sign of Erik then I heard him and Christine singing. I watched and stayed out of their sight, scared to get caught.
Christine battled against Erik's mighty voice. Erik the sweet and beautiful man had his mask and wig off. His charming face was scrunched in a painful and betrayed look. Raoul came treading through the water. Everything escalated quickly as Erik fought Raoul in the water as Christine stood and watched. Erik tied Raoul tot eh metal gate which had come down to trap them all down here. Since they didn't know any other way out except Erik and I.
Erik told Christine that she had two options at hand. One was to be with him and he would let Raoul go. Two was to let Raoul die and be set free. Christine stared at Erik. Erik and everyone was panting from adrenaline. I stepped out and into Erik's sights. His eyes widened.
"...mon ange..." Erik gave a shaky whisper. I wasn't mad at Erik, but he must have thought I was because he released Raoul and treaded back over to me where I stood on a separate piece of shore from Christine. Erik only had his white button down shirt on and his fancy black suit pants. His few pieces of hair were up and waving slightly as he moved. He looked lost and scared like a puppy as he looked up at me. I kneeled down and took his hands.
"Oh Erik, you have to get out of here, quickly. The pigs the managers called will be down soon." I warned as I heard Christine and Raoul row away down the lake out of this place. Erik climbed up onto the shore with my help and hugged me, tho he felt cold from the water and he moistened my clothes.
"Darling, come now." I urged and held him close as we shuffled over to his room. I gave him his monkey to play with as I looked for dry clothes quickly for him. I took out a large suitcase with swift speed and filled it with his clothes and lot of his money and a few things he could sell if needed. I handed him a dry pair of clothes and he changed as I searched somewhere else for more of his things. I grabbed his art supplies and his extra papers and music and ink. I put them all into the suitcase and closed it quickly. Erik had finished changing and was trying to convince me to come with him.
"Erik, I can't! It's too dangerous! I might slow you down, mon cherie!" I argued back and kept squeezing his freezing hands. I wanted to tell him so many things. So many things but such little time. I ended the argument by yelling.
"I LOVE YOU." I interrupted him. He stared down at me and I could see the sudden fear and sadness within his eyes. He didn't want this. He wanted me to come. I can't. He would be safer if I wasn't with him. He could get food for himself. And didn't need to take care of me. Little did I know it was the other way around.
(Erik's POV)
"I LOVE YOU!!" She interrupted my protests. I paused and stared at her. I was going to lose my true love. My darling angel. Oh so perfect and beautiful. I frowned. I didn't want this at all. I needed her. She seemed to want to hurry and be hasty and I know why but I want this all to last! I need to hold her longer! To kiss her! To have her within my lonely arms! I'll be all alone without her! I can't lose-
"Erik. Listen. I love you. I want you to be safe and healthy. I will always love you. Even after death, alright? Don't worry about me. Eat properly and dress warmly. Sleep well, write more. Now that hat is said I have more to say." She took a breathe, took my hands and stared at me with watery eyes. I choked back a sob.
"Erik Destler, I will always remember you. I will never move on form you, ok? I always lover your face. Your hair, tho it's not much, is soft and gentle against my hands. You're voice is strong yet gentle. You're swift and smooth and gentle. You're strong and perfect the way you are. Don't worry about your face because other probably have it worse, darling. There are places where you can fit in. And if others can not accept you then they can't accept how people are. Oh can't control how you look, baby. Don't worry about it because I love how you look!" She kissed me. So passionate...so caring and gentle. So loving... I wanted it all so badly to last. Her words made me feel a little stronger but I gave it one last try.
"Come with me, mon ange. I need you." I sobbed shakily. Her damn broke in her beautiful eyes and waterfalls sprang from the glowing orbs I have learned to love. She cares for me. She listens. She is all I need! BUT SHE IS WHAT I CANT HAVE APPARENTLY.
"I can't Erik..." she shook her head gently and dropped her head. I choked down a sob and took my suitcase. I kissed her head and left through a passage way behind the organ.
"Goodbye, my love..." I whispered into the darkness then continued out.
[Flashback End]
Being such a poetic and sentimental person, I had kept Erik's signature white half face mask. I kept it on my writing desk.
"Dear god, let Erik be safe." I prayed with a smile at the thought of Erik. I always prayed for him before bed. I heard a knock at my window. I looked to see...
Erik
