(First Person POV)

I watched him from my spot hanging from the chandelier. I had fallen in love with another ghost. Not the dead kind, more like the haunting kind. His name is Erik Destler. He owns an Opera House in Paris that I have found myself in. It's beautiful and grand and large with much room to fly.

Tho I love Erik so, I can not express my feelings for him. He can't see or hear me. Even if I knock his things down, I know he will just excuse t for the cold air in the lair. He was handsome, I have been with him at his worst. I've seen his pictures of the girl he calls Christine. I've seen him smash wine bottles and write music and play music and hum and sing to himself but he will not acknowledge me. I wish he would but I am an apparition, a ghost. I've laid dead long ago on the streets of Paris. It was depressing but I had hope...

"Christine...Christine." Erik moaned crinkly as he sat against the wall of his room, I sat on his bed, watching me sit their. It was saddening to watch him waste his life away.

The worst part was was that I wanted him to die. Just so he could acknowledge me...it was horrible. The thought presented itself every now and again and I would brush it away as best as I could but today was different, he was actually doing it, he showed all the signs. His depression got worse. He scooped up his noose and stared at it.

"I need to be free..." I felt suddenly guilty. I wished to comfort him and to see him but that can't be without him dying! I didn't want him to die and I did want him to die! Such troubles...I frowned and but my nails, which grew back for I was a ghost and all. He was now standing and walking, swaying, up the stone steps and-I followed him and we took a few turns until we were out in the opera room. I frowned and felt all kinds of worry. He climbed up into the rafters and started tying the rope tightly and securely to the large rafter walk way. He put the noose over his head and it tested around his neck like a scarf.

"ERIK PLEASE DONT!!" I yelled helplessly but none the less he stepped over the railing without a moment's hesitation. I whimpered. And tried to pull him but I failed and couldn't focus for I was now in a heavy state of panic!

"True man yet very god..." he sang softly, that broke my heart and he fell forward. I reached out helplessly as he neck broke with the snap of the rope. I cringed at the sound and saw his spirit fall onto the opera stage. I flew down and hesitantly touched his cheek, he was without his mask and wig. He was normal. His true self. He opened his eyes and looked up at me, through me he saw his body. His eyes widened in fear.

"This is not heaven." He stared and growled at me. I put my hands up in surrender.

"Calm yourself, Erik!" I urged.

"Who are you?!" He snapped at me. I frowned. I didn't think about this. Oh lord.

"I'm a (y/n). I've been with you all these years as a ghost. Things knocking down, yeah that was me." I stated and put my hands down. He stared at me. He ran a hand through his hair. He was so beautiful...

"You look young (just say you are. If not then pretend!) when did you die?" He asked. I frowned.

"I worked here as a Opera singer, I sang night after night until I was running around up in the rafters and someone pushed me off..." I remembered it all painfully. The way my body slammed into the floor, the sound of my own neck and skull breaking. I shivered. He put his hand on my shoulder and I looked to him.

"I'm so sorry (y/n)..." he gave pity. I frowned but thanked him either way.

"How come you have not crossed to the other side yet?" He asked me. I shrugged I was never quite sure why and I didn't try to find out for I wanted to stay with Erik.

"I'm really not sure, maybe because I died so harshly..."

"Well now you are not alone.." he assured and put his hand on my cheek, the contact sent warm fuzzy feelings into my chest. I smiled and put my hand over his.

"Thank you. You know you won't be alone either now." I stated. He smiled.

"Thank god." He smiled. And what a beaut it was.
