- Nine months later -

"Merry Christmas Haru!" Kara cooed holding a camera in his hand as he filmed our six week old baby who sat there pretty oblivious to everything around her. I held her in my arms as she wriggled and I smiled up at Kara.

"She's not going to remember this Christmas you know." I chuckle and he smiled. At me, continuing to film us. My father laughed from the lounge chair across the room. It was her first Christmas, but she was so young she wouldn't really remember it.

"Can we open these gifts yet? The entire neighbourhood will be here soon!" My father whined anticipating the big surprise Kara and I had gotten him. But it wasn't as easy as unwrapping a gift. I just laughed and shook my head as I sat on the floor from the chair and laid haru between my legs as she waved her arms, her mouth moving as well as her arms and legs,

"Oh you're so cute!" I smile and lean down, kissing her forehead lovingly. She just blew a raspberry and kept wriggling. She made my heart ache. It felt amazing being her... mother? Father? What was I? Birth giver? Gross.

I heard a car outside and gasped excitedly. "Kara Kara Kara the thing!" I squealed and grabbed harukas blanket, wrapping her up, but Kara sat me back down when I tried to walk.

"Honey why don't you stay inside with your father and I'll go bring in his gift. I nod and Kara walked outside for a moment, I could hear the various voices outside and my father gave me a look. We'd given him the seat where he couldn't see out the windows at all. He felt exremely cornered.

"It's ok!" I smiled and cuddled haruka who looked around the room again. She was in a little red santa dress with pink ruffles. I looked over at the door as it opened and Kara steppped through, holding it open as my mother walked through the door in a red dress. She looked at my father with tears in her eyes and a look that could be known as nothing but loving. She hugged him tightly and he hugged her back. Then the peanut gallery arrived, consisting of oso, choro, jyushi and totty. They all ran over to me and looked at the baby in my arms.

"On a scale of one to flipping insane I'd say this is getting pretty close to insane." Oso blurred out as Kara sat behind me and wrapped an arm around me smirking. "How the fuck do you even give labour like that. I mean.. how much did that hurt!" He asked and I blushed.

"One. No swearing policy, two, i couldn't walk for two weeks after she was born and agony doesn't quite cut it." I sighed and put my head on Kara's shoulder.

"So wait when does she turn into a cat?" Choro asked as totty knelt in front of me and looked at the ring on my hand. Kara had called our mother the morning he got beat up by my father and asked for a couple thousand dollars in his savings account. And told her everything.

Mother must have told the other four what happened on the way here, that at least had four days to get over it I guess. And none of them seemed too phased today.

"Uh... I don't think she can change until she's about four... because she has to be taught to control it..." I said trying to remember my long nights reading nearly a year ago.

They continued with this senseless banter and moved onto opening the wrapped gifts. My mother and brothers would be here for two weeks as their father was on a business trip. They were staying here with us just camping out in the lounge. None of them minded much but Kara and I would still be in our room with haruka.

"Now you two I understand will need a bit more room for your little one." My father said when it was mine and Kara's turn to receive a gift. He held out a roll of blueprints that had the plans for a small two bedroom house right next to my fathers. So he'd always be there when we needed him but haruka could have her own room and we could have our privacy.

I smiled and hugged him tightly. "You're the best."

"I know." He bragged and I had to admit, I've never been so happy. I looked around at my family and even if it was only for a short time, I was glad to have them all here, and I'd miss them when they were gone. I found it sad that haruka wouldn't really know her grandmother but I could already hear mother scheming to father about her plans to come here whenever her husband was away on a trip.

So my family wouldn't be so far after all. I could still see them all and as much as every time her husband is away seems like a long time, it would actually be in a few months. He was never home. I hugged my family and was glad that I had the next two weeks and forever with them. This was the best Christmas of my life.

(( and that's the end hope you enjoyed this! I was thinking of writing a sequel but I don't want to milk it I think they have gone through enough torture ))
