** Sandi back in the study **

"Oh man Aurelia, I am so tired, I have been reading none stop for days."

Aurelia looked at me, she had been super all the way, loaning her spell books without any reservation. She had even provided me with a blank one so that I could write mine. She had told me that once she became a banshee, she had been able to use her magic instinctively, without her spell books. So she had locked them safe here. Now that I was able to use them, she was thrilled to let me read them and use that knowledge to build my own spells.

She had explained to me that the goal of the spell book, was to centralize all your power, a manuscript that acted as a link between me, my spells and Anubis. Writing my spells, was an act of devotion to my god, it also helped commit them to memory, not only to remember them, but also to imprint the magical patterns into my brain. Then re-reading the book on a regular basis, helped to maintain all this and also served as prayer to Anubis.

She had told me that I had a natural talent for magic, that she had never seen someone learn all this in so little time. According to her, I had done the work of decades of study in only days. Of course, my photographic memory had helped tremendously, but even after I told her about it, she said that training should not have been this fast. We had quickly moved from theory to practice and I already had a host of undead beings at my command as well as a plethora of spells that I would need in order to do my work.

I had also read a lot about Anubis, the fact that he looked after the dead, always making sure that death is not endangered, that the sacred promise of rest after life is protected at all costs. I understood its meaning, what it meant to the poor souls who had died and were now resting before another long and hard journey. My life was now devoted to preserving all this and my God Anubis had given me the tools I needed.

Suddenly an alarm was heard, a small skeletal bird on my desk started chirping alarmingly. One of my first successful spells, some way to know if Tali or Francine were in danger.

I took out a crystal ball, a gift that Francine had left behind for me, along with many other things.

"Quaerere Et Invenire"

The ball filled with smoke and suddenly the goal of my search appeared, an image of Tali and Francine and their surroundings. Suddenly we could hear them talking.

A man was standing there, telling them they would need to raid somewhere but they needed help. That was my cue. "Aurelia, they need me. I am going to join them".

"Be careful and call me if you need help".

"No worries" I smiled back "I will."

I traced a circle in the air with the bone from a foot and said "Lacus", on command a portal opened and from it I could hear the gentleman from earlier hint at them needing to fight a Lich. I couldn't wait to show them my surprise.

** Back at Headquarters Tali looking at the portal **

"Sandi? What the hell are you doing here? And what is THAT" I said pointing at the big portal behind her.

"Like it? Its my new hobby."

I literally jumped into her arms and squeezed her tight "TOO.... TIGHT!!!!!" she said through clenched teeth.

I released her "Oh sorry!" Good she was breathing again.

"No arm done. Though you have one hell of a grip, and watch it with those things they are sharp", pointing at my gauntlets, which I withdrew.

Her eyes went wide open and she had a huge grin on her face. "Oh that was sooooo coooool!!!! Are those weapons? Are they Magical?"

I laughed "Yes and yes! But how about you Miss I just gated halfway around the world?"
