It was the night of the battle. It was day, and I was working on my speech. I was never a public speaker, and I was panicking.

I sat at my desk, breathing heavily, and rubbing my temples. Tonight was the night to find out if I live or die. If I will chop off the head of the vampire leader, or if he will chop of mine. It's a 50/50 chance, and I didn't like the sound of the chances.

Danny walked in, and he saw I was stressing out. He walked up behind me and put his hands on my shoulders. He rubbed my shoulders.

"I'm gonna die," I said.

"You wont," he said with no doubt in his voice, "I know you wont. You will fight a good battle, and you'll win."

"I'm not as strong as he is," I said.

"That guy is old," Danny said quickly, "I'll be behind, protecting your family. Jax and I will be here. I am not gonna lose you like I did before."

"It's a 50/50 chance."

"Then win that 50/50 chance."

"I can't." I began crying. "I can't fight like you or Jax."

Danny walked over to my side and he bent over next to me. He put his arms around me. "Nothing will happen to you. You will walk out of there, proud and alive."

"I wont," I said, "I'll be dead." I put my arms around him and I cried. "I'm scared Danny. I'm scared to death!"

"It's okay," he said as he rubbed my back.

I breathed heavily, and I cried into his shoulder.

Danny let me go and looked at me.

He wiped a tear away and smiled at me. I couldn't help myself from smiling back. He gave me a kiss and he let me go.

He pulled a bean bag around from me and sat down.

"What do you have so far," he asked with a grin.

I grabbed the paper and handed it to him.

He took it and read it to himself.

"You're way better at this than I am," he said, "I like it."

I walked up to him and I sat down on his lap. I put my arms around his neck. I put my forehead into his neck.

"I'm scared," I said.

"It's alright," he said as he wrapped his arms around me, "you'll be fine."

I heard a howl from the pack leader, calling all the wolves for the fight.

I gripped onto Danny tighter. I was scared.

Danny got up and held me in his arms.

He set me down at the door. Pip ran up to me and hugged me. I hugged her. Both of us were in tears, but for two different reasons. She let me go, and I kissed her forehead.

I ran up to my parents and hugged them. "I love you all. Stay together. Danny and Jax will be here to protect you until the battle is over."

They let me go and kissed my forehead.

I was still in tears. "Come back safe," my mother said.

"I'm gonna try," I said.

Another howl, calling me, came from the leader.

"I gotta go," I said.

I hugged Danny goodbye, and I gave him a kiss.

"I love you," he said.

"I love you too," I said.

He gave me one last kiss, then I left. I ran as a wolf. and I got to the pack. Everyone was getting prepped for battle.

I ran up to the pack leader.

"Halo," he said with a sigh of relief. "thank god you're here."

I went down to human form, and I panicked.

"I'm scared," I said.

"I know you are," he said, "everyone is, but don't show your fear."

"I'm gonna try not to."

"You can't try, you have to hide it. He wont give you a chance. He will murder you."

"I know," I said, "but is there anymore to the prophecy I don't know."

He looked around then pulled me into a whisper. "There is one thing we have vampires don't know. You can't tell Jax or anybody but wolves. When times seemed helpless for the fighter, he/she regains strength from the words of the vampire leader. The leader tries to back down, but the fighter doesn't let him and the fighter takes his head, and holds it up for everyone to see. The fighter goes back to human and shouts victory."

"That makes me feel better," I said, "I know what to do. Shall we prep the others?"

"Yes. Go back to a wolf. We'll give your speech in a few minutes," he said.

I nodded and turned back into a wolf.

The one person I missed at the moment was Danny. He taught me what I needed to know. I'll teach the others what he taught me.

I walked around to see fighters, until a boy was fighting. He was maybe a senior in school. I looked at the fight, and no matter what, he failed against his opponent. He always aimed high and did slow shots. He didn't dodge either. He took the hits, and he never struck first. You could always call when he was going to throw one.

I walked up to him and his opponent. Honestly, I felt like a bad ass when I walked around.

The boy and his opponent looked nervous.

I looked at the senior. I nudged my head to tell him to follow me. He looked worried, but he followed me. I had no clue why everyone was fighting human.

He walked with me to the side, then I turned into a human. "You're doing it wrong," I said.

"You are nothing like I had expected," he said as he scanned me from head to toe.

"We can either learn how to fight, or you can continue to check out the fighter like a disgusting perv."

"What am I doing wrong?"

"You're slow and you're expected. Fight like you aren't going to expect it. You don't always have to take the first hit, but take a shot when he's close to you. After he throws, right after you dodge, throw, and you'll get it. Keep up a fight, and don't back down."

"Okay," he said with a smirk.

"Wipe that smirk of your face. Ever hear the prophecy? I'm taken."

"It doesn't matter sugar."

He came in close to me and tried to kiss me, so I gave him an example. I threw a punch right across his face.

He fell right on his stomach and he rolled onto his back, cupping his cheek.

"There's an example on what to do," I said.
