I woke up with a moan. Danny was holding onto my right hand since my left side was hit. He smiled at me.

"Hey sleepy head," he said, "how are you?"

I smiled at Danny. "Alright," I said, "it kinda hurts, but it's not horrible."

Danny kissed the back of my hand.

"Halo," Pip asked behind Danny.

"Hey Pipsqueak," I said with a grin.

She came over to me and I pulled her into a hug. She smiled at me.

She held out a fluffy teddy bear to me and I took it. I smiled as I pulled out of a hug.

Pip didn't act her age. She was always my little sister.

"Thank you," I said.

Danny looked at me with a smile.

"You had a flashback," he said, "didn't you?"

I nodded. "Yea," I said, "what's the deal with the recovery."

"As a wolf, your bones are stronger, so no major injuries. You did crack your hip slightly and you snapped a rib. You'll be in crutches for about a week with the rib, so stay out of the wolf form for a while."

"I feel bad for the guy," I said, "he didn't mean to hit me, and now if he tells the truth, everyone will think he's insane. By the way, how long was I out?"

"Few hours," Danny said.

The hospital door opened, and I saw Jax run in. He walked up to me and hugged me.

He breathed heavily. "I got here as fast as I could," he said as he took deep breaths."

"I can tell," I said with a smile.

He let me go and I grinned at him.

A nurse came in and let me free from the IV's. She handed me a bottle of pills and told me instructions. She put some crutches to the side and handed me my old clothes. Everyone left, except for Danny, and he helped me get into my clothes.

I came out and Danny walked home with all of us.

Jax got lazy and he turned into a bat. He sat on Pip's shoulder.

"Tired Jax," I said, "wimp."

He squeaked a cute little squeak and made Pip laugh.

I giggled a little bit, but I rolled my eyes and kept crutching along.

Once we got out of the territory, a voice came up behind us.

"Looks like a little problem came across the fighter," the voice said. It was the one wolf I taught to fight. He had on a blue tank top, tattered black jeans, and boots. He had a sucker in his mouth and he just looked evil.

"I'll take Pip home," Danny said, "Jax. Get this guy off Halo's tail."

Jax flew off of Pip's shoulder, turned back to human, and landed next to me.

"Pretty good Batman," the boy said, "but Rachel needs a guy other than Robin or you."

"Then who do you claim to be," I asked.

He stood there for a second. "Harvey Dent," he said with a grin.

"I'll never be your wife," I snapped.

The boy smiled and he walked up to me.

"I don't think we introduced properly, nice to meet you Halo. I'm Luke."

He put his hand on my shoulder and Jax snapped.

He pushed him off of me and I had to move backwards a little bit.

"Keep your nasty ass dog paws off her," Jax snapped.

Luke growled and Jax hissed.

"Jax," I said, "it's fine. It doesn't matter. He can't hurt me."

Jax looked at me and walked up to me. He whispered into my ear.

"If we don't do anything, he will stay on our trail."

He beat me on that argument.

Luke grinned at me and shoved Jax to the ground. He walked up to me and he put his hands on my side.

I put my head down, but he nudged it up with his.

"Sure," I said, "I'm crippled, but I can still do this."

I picked up one of my crutches and swung it at him. I hit him in the shin and he jumped up and down in pain.

"Mother fucker," he snapped at me.

He took my crutches and he swung one at my face and got me across the cheek. I fell onto my bad side, and I cupped, both my face and hip.

Luke kicked my shin, then threw my crutches on top of me.

Jax head locked Luke and they started a fight.

Luke backed down and ran. Jax helped me up and he looked at my face.

He was staring at my cheek. I rubbed my hand across my cheek, and I was bleeding.

Oh shit, Jax was gonna go against me now.

I tore off the sleeve to my t-shirt and pressed it hard against my cheek.

"Let me help you," he said as he shook his head for a second.

His k-9s were long again.

"I'm fine," I said.

"Please," he said, "I would never hurt you."

"Jax," I said, 'I'm fine."

I tied the sleeve to my shirt and my hair to keep it against my cheek. It looked stupid as hell, but it worked.

Jax and I walked home, and he kept an eye on me.

Once we got back, Danny ran up to me and he took off the sleeve.

"I'm fine," I said, "my hip hurts a lot, but I'm fine."

Jax was staring at my wound again.

Danny took me into the kitchen and Jax followed. Danny patted my cheek with a washcloth until it stopped bleeding. He put a band-aid over it to keep it shut.

"What happened," he asked.

"I hit Luke in the shin after he pushed down Jax an walked up to me. He took my crutches, used them to hit me across the face, push me to the ground, kick me, then threw the crutches on top of me."

Danny looked at me sadly. He put his hands on the back of my neck and kissed me for a few seconds.

"I'm fine," I said, "can all of us just hang out and relax?"

Danny and Jax nodded.

I walked up to Jax and hugged the best I could.

He got the idea and he grinned as he put his hands on my side to hug me.

He let me go and we all walked into the living room.

I sat in between Jax and Danny as both of them put their arms around my neck.

Both of them made me feel wanted and secure.
