"I'm gonna be one of your bridesmaids, right?" Aspen asked.
"Yeah." I said in a 'duh' tone.
"What's Greyson gonna be?" She looked over at Greyson who was practicing pitching.
"Whatever he wants to be I guess." I shrugged my shoulders. We were currently at the baseball field while the baseball players were practicing. I told aspen and Greyson how I couldn't go to prom with Mason, and Greyson told me that if we came to his practice I could tell him. So here we are, sitting on a bench in the scorching hot sun, watching the baseball players practice.
"To bad Trenton plays football instead of baseball, I could be staring at his ass right now." Aspen sighed. I laughed at her statement, she's weird.
"Take a break." The coach said. All the boys dropped their bats and gloves and took a sigh of relief. Greyson came over to us and I handed him his half empty water.
"It was aspen." I said quickly when he took the water out of my hand. Greyson narrowed his eyes at Aspen, making her smile.
"It's like 90° out here." She defended herself. I chuckled as Greyson drank the rest of the water. Then Mason came up to us, Greyson and Aspen giving me a look.
"Hey Emma...." he trailed off. I could tell something was up.
"What's up?" I put my hand in front of my face, blocking the sun.
"I wanna go to prom with Oakley." He said looking at his shoes. My heart dropped.
"Oh, that's....cool."
"Cool? Your dropping her for Oakley? Get your sorry ass out of here." Aspen growled. Mason quickly walked away. I glared at Aspen who looked raged.
"It's not a big deal. At least I didn't have to tell him about Avery." I muttered.
"Umm your dropping mason for someone that's rich and your getting married to. He's dropping your for the bitch who cares about her nails more than anything!" Aspen said. I rolled my eyes.
"But Oakley is hot." Greyson said. Me and Aspen looked at him. He put his hands up in defense.
"Go." Aspen hissed. He walked away without arguing. I looked at Aspen who was glaring at him.
"What was that?" I asked. She then smiled and sat down on the bench by me.
"Tell me how your date was with Avery. Greyson doesn't like it when we talk about him so I needed him to leave." She said. I looked at her and smiled.
"It went....ok" I shrugged.
"Were suppose to go cake testing today." I said. Aspens mouth dropped.
"Oh my gersh! This is going to be the best wedding ever!" She clapped her hands.
"Gersh?" I asked.
"Yes. Now what flavor do you plan on getting?" She changed the subject.
"I don't care." I shrugged. She stared at me,
"You don't care? You don't care what your wedding cake tastes like?" Aspen asked flatly. I threw my hands in the air,
"It literally doesn't matter. It's not like this is a actual wedding where the bride and groom love each other and care what everything looks and tastes like." I looked at her.
"But you guys could fall in love." Aspen pointed one of her purple finger nails at me.
"Never in a million years will I fall in love with him."
*~*
"Do you like that one?" I asked.
"Mhmm." Avery hummed, still looking down at his phone. I was getting aggravated. He said that to everyone of the cakes and he won't pay attention.
"Whatever. I'm not even going to try." I sat the plate with the piece of cake down. I looked over at mom who shrugged.
"I don't care which one we get, Emma." He said, looking at me.
"Then why should I?" I crossed my arms over my chest. He stared at me for a few before looking at the owner of the cake store.
"We'll get the third one." Avery said. The guy nodded. Avery looked back at me.
"What?" I snapped.
"Do you always have to be a brat?" He asked.
"Do you always have to be rude?" I sassed. He huffed but didn't say anything else, just looked back down at his phone.
"Emerson, can I talk to you?" Mom said more as a command. I followed her out of the room.
"Can you try and be happy?" She asked.
"Umm no. He's so selfish and rude and I hate father for making me marry him." It was silent for a minute until mom sighed.
"Do it for me then, not your father." Mom looked at me. Her beautiful grey eyes piercing into mine.
"Fine." I grumbled. She smiled and walked out of the room and back in the room with Jasmine and Avery. My phone rang, I pulled it out of my pocket and say the caller ID was aspen.
"Hello?" I said into the phone.
"Soo, what cake did you get?" Aspen asked through the line. I sighed and rubbed my head, trying to remember.
"I think classic vanilla."
"You think?"
"Yes aspen I think. I'll call you back later." I was stressed. The wedding was getting way to close. She muttered a 'bye' and hung up. I walked back into the cake room to only see mom and Jasmine.
"Where's Avery?" I asked.
"He had business to take care of at the office." Jasmine said, eyeing me. Why does she always do that? I might not be wearing a white skin tight dress like her or a off the shoulder flower dress like mom, but at least I'm wearing something fashionable. Skinny jeans and a white off the shoulder shirt white tan sandals.
"Well since we're done here can we go home?" I ask. Mom nodded her head and grabbed her keys.
"See you at the wedding." Mom waved bye to Jasmine. Jasmine rolled her eyes. I'm guessing she's still upset when her and mom got in a fight at the wedding dress boutique. Well at least now we know where Avery gets his attitude from.
