I silently cursed as I pulled another thorn out of my arm. I threw it somewhere in the bush besides me and looked up, to see aspen hitting tree limbs out of her way as she kept walking. She turned around to meet my stare.

"Your slow."

"I'm pregnant." I said as I stepped over the huge fallen tree branch and walked over to aspen.

"You do realize that if you get hurt, Avery will kill me." She said giving me a serious face. I smiled and shrugged.

"I know."

She groaned and rolled her eyes. Turning around she let the branch go she was holding, and in a flash it whipped back and scratched my arm.

"Fuck!" I cursed loudly looking down at my shoulder.

"Emerson! There are baby squirrels arou- WHAT THE HELL?" Aspen freaked out once she saw the big cut on my shoulder.

"Aspen, watch your mouth there's baby squirrels out here." I mocked. She glared at me before replying.

"Shut up Emerson! Avery is going to kill me!" She said looking at my arm again. The wind that was blowing made it sting, and I already knew I was bleeding.

"Yeah, because you had to let the damn branch go."

"What was I suppose to do? Just say 'hey branch your coming with me' and break it off?" She shot back. We glared at each other in silence before a smile crept on her face and mine.

"Like it was suppose to grow legs." I laughed.

"Exactly." She laughed back. We let out a sigh as we calmed down.

"Come on, were almost there." Aspen said as she turned back around and kept walking. I followed her. What? I might be hurt and pregnant but I really want to see the barn.

"No but really Avery really is gonna kill you." I said with all seriousness in my voice.

"Better be a quick death."

*~*

I stayed quiet before replying, "it's not that bad." I said as I studied the barn once more.

"Pfft. It looks like a stampede just rammed through it." Aspen said. I turned my head to look at her then turned back at the barn.

"Oh well, it's not like we were planning on rebuilding it or something." I turned to go walk away, only for a warm hand to grab my arm.

"Emma your a genius! We can rebuild the barn so you're kid will have something to play in." Aspens face lit up.

"What? No! It'll take to long and to much money. Plus there is no path in the woods to get here." I pointed out.

"Think, Emma. Darren can help us rebuild it, he has money. And we'll make a path, it can't be that hard." She looked past me and to the woods. The wind blowing pieces of her blonde hair in front of her blue eyes.

"I still don't think it's a good idea." I said. What if when we're working on it we see a snake and get bit? Or if we touch something poisonous?

"Well I do, so I'm talking to Daren about it." Aspen shrugged. I scoffed at her.

"Aspen-"

"Oh come on! It's a barn, kids love barns. You could even get cows and pigs and horses and like, you know farm animals! Raise the rascal country." Aspen said. I could see it in her eyes that she really wanted to do this.

"Rascal?" I asked. She looked at me.

"Well do you know the gender?"

"No."
