"I do not."
"Oh yeah you do. You sound like a bear." Daren laughed. Mom stared at him with her jaw dropped. I sat here, silently eating my cereal. I definitely do not want to be apart of their argument.
"Well you sound like a gorilla!" Mom shot back. I choked on my cereal from laughing so hard. Daren narrowed his eyes at mom as she smiled sheepishly at him.
I like this, joking around while eating breakfast in our pajamas. We've never done this before when we were living with dad. It was always seriousness and formal clothing. Now mom wears jeans and T shirts, which I've never seen her in. She's happy with Daren, and I'm happy here.
"Well I'm your gorilla." Daren wiggles his eye brows at mom. I stopped laughing and stared at them with a disgusting look,
"Ew." I said. They both looked at me. Mom rolled her eyes and giggled,
"Shouldn't you be getting ready for a date?" She asked. I took the last bite of my cereal before nodding,
"As a matter of fact, yes." I stood up and looked at them. Mom had her hair in a messy bun as she wore one of Daren's band shirts and her Cookie Monster fuzzy sweatpants. Daren on the other hand was wearing sweats without a shirt on, exposing his abs.
I walked upstairs and into my room, which I liked way better than the ones at my old house-or now dads house. I dug through my drawers before finding an outfit that I liked.
I took a quick shower before slipping on the outfit. I blow dried and straightened my hair before applying makeup. I wasn't sure if Avery was taking me on a formal date or not, so I applied red lipstick just to be classy.
I slipped on high heel boots before making my way down stairs. When I got into the living room I saw mom and Daren sitting on the couch, watching Greys Anatomy.
"Your watching it without me?!" I whined. They turned around and looked at me before mom gave me a small smile,
"You can catch up when you get back from your date." She said. I narrowed my eyes at her,
"Still doesn't make it better that you guys are watching it without me." I said in a monotone voice. Mom rolled her eyes. The doorbell rang and I waited for a second to open it, considering I was to busy watching what was currently happening on Greys anatomy.
I walked over to the door and opened it, being greeted by a beautiful sight. Avery was standing there with flowers. I took them and smiled, "Thank you." I said.
"Your welcome." I walked in the kitchen and put them in a vase with the flowers that mom has in the kitchen. I then walked back over to Avery, seeing him check me over.
"Are you ready or do you wanna keep checking me out more?" I asked chucking. He looked up at me through his eyelashes, a smirk settling on his face.
"I'll be checking you out later tonight, only this time you'll be nake-"
"Ha ha ha so funny Avery! But we really should be going." I cut him off. I heard Daren and mom mumble something, making me pray to god that they didn't hear what Avery said.
"Bye mom! Bye Daren!" I said before taking my purse and closing the door. Me and Avery now staring at each other on the porch. He took my hand and we walked down the stairs to his car.
"Thank you." I said as he opened the passenger car door for me. I slipped in before he shut the door and walked around the car, getting in the drivers side.
"I've gotta admit, your mom did a good job hiding you guys." Avery chuckled, "I mean with where the house is located, the security numbers, even the guards that are helping you guys hide are good techs." He said. I looked out the window at the trees passing by and thought about what he said. I mean I already knew mom did a good job hiding us. We live 2 hours outside of town and on a gravel road, with a very long gravel driveway hidden by trees.
