"D-dad?" I asked as I stood up. He checked me over before looking back into my eyes. He took a step closer to me and I was yanked back into a hard chest.

"What are you doing here?" Avery growled from behind me. My dad sent a glare to Avery, but didn't respond. Instead he looked at me again.

"How are you?" He asked. I wasn't sure if I was suppose to be talking to him, but I could see the hurt in his eyes.

"Good, I guess." I responded. I then knew the question that was coming next.

"How's your mom?" He asked. I wasn't going to tell him about Daren, that wasn't an option. Dad would kill Daren in a heartbeat.

"We should be going." Avery said as he reached over me and grabbed my purse.

"No. Your not leaving with my daughter." Dad snapped, grabbing my wrist harshly. I winced in pain.

"Let her go Christopher, now." Avery snarled. He looked ready to pounce any minute. Dad looked at Avery with a glare, before a smirk formed on his face and he looked down at me.

"Fine. But tell your mom a message. If she thinks that I've gave up on looking for her, she's wrong. I'm getting closer to finding her every day. A month is a long time Emma, so tell her that when I do find her - she'll be in big trouble." He let go of my wrist and I waisted no time backing into Avery, his arms automatically wrapping around me.

"Good to see you still haven't changed." I mumbled as I rubbed my now bruised wrist. Dad laughed,

"I've been going crazy trying to find you guys. And now I've finally found my lead." He looked at me. I didn't understand what he meant but it seemed like Avery did as he wrapped his arms around me tightly.

"Let's go." Avery said as he pulled me along. We walked to the car in silence. As we got in the car Avery sped out of the parking lot, making sure to look behind him in the process.

"What are you doing?!" I asked.

"Your dad has people following us, that's what he meant by lead." Avery said. "So I'm taking you to my house."

"No. I wanna go home. Use the highway if you have to. Well get lost in the traffic." I suggested. Avery chuckled bitterly,

"It's not an option Emma." His eyes glued on the road. I decided not to push it, so I looked out the window. I watched as grey clouds started to form in the sky and light ran started to fall. I also realized a car that was on our tail, and another car behind that one.

My stomach then twisted, and I mentally cursed myself for not being able to control it, "Avery..." I trailed off.

"Emma not-"

"I'm gonna puke." I blurted out. The way the car was going fast was making me nauseous, not to mention I'm carrying a person inside of me and he/she is moving around.

"Not now!"

"Not like I can pick when I do it. I didn't get out of bed this morning and said 'hmm I think I would like to puke in Avery's car when were going home from our date.'" I snapped looking at him. He let out a groan and I saw him tense up.

"We're almost to the house." He mumbled before taking a sharp turn, making my body fly towards the right hitting the window.

"Avery!"

"Shit I'm sorry. I'm trying to get there fast." He quickly apologized.

"Not helping when your swinging me around!" I yelled. He didn't say anything as I laid back in the seat, my hand rested on my stomach. I'm praying to god that I don't puke my guts out now, and that Avery gets to the house fast enough.

One more turn and we were at the house. Without hesitation I bursted out the door and into his house, surprised that the door was unlocked. I went to the elevator and pushed the top floor, considering that's where the living space is with the big bathroom.

Right when the elevator doors opened I felt it coming up my throat, making me dash towards the hallway and into the bathroom. I bent over the toilet and let it all out. I felt my hair being pulled back, automatically making me know it's Avery.

After puking my guts out I flushed the toilet and rested on my knees. "I'm really starting to miss my period."

*~*

"I called your mom to let her know what happened." Avery said as he handed me a cup of water. I nodded and took it.

So far the night hasn't been that bad. Me and Avery haven't fought, and we've just been sitting around watching movies. Were currently sitting on the couch while the TV softly plays in the background.

"Avery..." I trailed off. He looked at me with a concerned face,

"Yes darling?" He asked. I turned to look at him, hesitating before letting the words slide out of my mouth.

"Are you still in the mafia?" I asked. He stiffened.

"H-how did you..."

"Remember that night I was walking home and saw you with these boys in a ally. You guys killed someone because he didn't 'give you the money he owned'." I said recalling the memory. (Chapter 8)

"I got out of the mafia that night when you told me you were pregnant." He said. I nodded my head.

"Ok." I whispered. I didn't really wanna talk more about it, it bothered me.

"Let's talk about the baby." He said, a small smile on his face. A smile crept on mine also.

"What about the baby?" I asked.

"Everything about the baby." He exclaimed. I giggled.

"Let's start off with names then." I suggested. He nodded his head in agreement.

"If its a girl then Avalyn." I said.

"If its a boy then Jace." He said.

"Or dalton." I said as He chuckled.

"We have to agree on one, Emerson." He said.

"Or two..." I said innocently batting my eyelashes at him. He sighed before agreeing,

"Fine. So girl names are Avalyn and.."

"Olivia." I suggested. He nodded his head in agreement.

"And boy names are Jace or..."

"How about jaxon?" I asked. He looked at me for a second before smiling.

"So we have the names down. Now can we talk about where he/she will be living?"

"What do you mean?" I asked. He turned so his body was facing me.

"Your dad isn't going to give up on searching for your mom, or finding out where you guys are currently living. And if he does find out and the baby is there with you guys, he could take him or her."

"But if he or she was living here, dad could take it also. I think it would be better if the baby lived with me, mom and Daren." I said slowly. I could see anger rising in him.

"Why?! Your dad could easily take him or her if he finds out where you guys are!" He snapped.

"He hasn't found us and we've been living in that house for a month! He knows where you live and he can easily take the baby if it's here. If he or she lived with me at moms house then it would be protected. Mom and Daren would protect it just like they protect me." I said calmly. He stared at me for a minute before replying.

"It's my job to protect you guys, your my family." He said lowly. A smile settled on my face as I placed my hand on Avery's cheek. He leaned into my touch.

"There's no doubt in my mind that you'll go through whatever you have to to protect me and the little one."
