"Hey honey, how was school?" Mom asked once I got in the car.

"Is dad home?" I threw my backpack in the floorboard and buckled up.

"In his office, why?" Mom drove away from the hell hole. I felt anger rise in me just thinking about what Dad has kept from me this time.

"Avery paid me a visit as school today, and he was freaking out over something his dad told him and when I asked him what the problem was he said I needed to ask my dad." I rambled as I looked out the window.

"Oh." Was all that mom said. It was quiet the ride home. Once we pulled up in front the house I grabbed my backpack and went inside, not waiting for mom to turn off the car. I swung the door open and scared Lucy half to death. I went down the hall and barged into his office without knocking.

"What the hell did you say to Avery?" I asked. I then realized he was in a meeting and everyone was staring at me, but I didn't care.

"Leave me alone with my daughter, please." Dad said calmly. They all nodded and got up, walking past me and into the living room.

"Emerson darling, what's wrong?" He smirked.

"Why is Avery so freaked about having a kid with me?" I asked. The smirk was whipped off of his face faster than I could blink.

"And don't lie to me." I said, walking over to his desk and sitting in one of the chairs.

"I was waiting until you were older to tell you" Dad started.

"Well Tony told Avery that me and him needed to have kids, so spill." I leaned back in the seat. Dad sighed and ran a tattooed hand through his black hair.

"A long time ago, I had to get out of a gambling problem." Dad started. Mom walked in the office and sat down besides me.

"And I didn't have enough money to pay the guy off. He said that he wanted you, for you to marry him. But you were 15 at the time and I wasn't going to allow that."

"But you allowed to me to get married at 17." I rolled my eyes. He looked at me a few second before starting to tell the story again.

"He wasn't the one to give up easily. He said it was either you, or I died. I had to think quick, so I offered him...." Dad trailed off.

"What did you do, Christopher." Mom said sternly. I'm guessing she didn't know either. My heart pounded, what the fuck did he offer. He groaned and covered his face with his hands and leaned back in his chair.

"I offered him your first born." He spitted out. My mouth hung open and I felt my heart shatter. I shakily stood up as tears prickled my eyes.

"Emerson-"

"Don't." I walked out of the office. Dads gang was in the living room, taking. I walked out of the house. I had no idea where I was going, but I didn't care. I don't want to come back to this house. Why was I born into this family? Why does my dad have to be in a mafia. Why is this happening to me.

My phone kept ringing but I didn't answer it, I just kept walking and harshly whipped my away my tears. My first born child. He had to sweep that low. Me and Avery have to have a child, only to give it up. He/she would never get to know me. Even thinking about that breaks my heart even more.

I sat down on a bench at the park. I probably looked creepy watching little kids play and laugh, but I don't care.

"Hey." A sweet and friendly voice said. I looked over and saw a middle age woman sitting next me to, smiling.

"Hey." I smiled back.

"Your Emerson rose, Christopher rose's daughter, right?" She asked. I cringed that she knew who I was. I should lie, say I'm not.

"Erm....yeah. I am." I confessed. Her smile grew even bigger.

"It's nice to meet you." She said.

"Nice to meet you to."

"I saw you upset, and I just wanted to say that whatever your going through it'll get better. I know being the kid of the most feared mafia leader can get pretty nasty, but I was here for Miranda and I'm here for you." She said. My eyes grew big, she New my older sister.

"You knew my sister?" I asked. She nodded.

"She was the most nicest, prettiest girl ever. She was just misunderstood half the time." The girl touched my shoulder.

"Yeah. Now she's married and has kids and she lives far away from here." I looked back at the kids.

"The one with curly brown hair and in the pink dress is mine." She said. I looked at the little girl who was smiling and laughing while going down the fire pole.

"She's adorable." I said. The girl chuckled,

"Thanks. She has a bad attitude though."

"How old is she?" I looked back at the girl. Her daughter and her look exactly alike.

"Five." She responded. We just kept talking about motherly things. She is really nice, I wish she was sister. Miranda is lucky to have met her when she did. After a while she left and I stayed. It is currently 9pm, and I'm walking back home. I don't know why I am walking home, I should just run away. I wouldn't have to get married tomorrow and I wouldn't have to give my first born child away.

As I walked by an ally I heard voices. I looked down it and saw three boys with hoodies over their heads, pointing a gun at someone. They were standing under a street light.

"The deal was I gave you until today to give me what I want, or I shoot you in between your eyes." A familiar deep voice said. There was only two guys who I knew with deep voices like that, and that's my dad and Avery. But my dad doesn't 'take care of business' on the streets. So it must be Avery.

"Boss." A guy said.

"What?" Avery growled. The guy pointed my way and Avery's head looked over to me, sure enough it was him. He pulled his hood down, exposing his messed up brown hair.

"Emerson?" He asked. I quickly walked away. Fuck my life. New things just keep happening in the past week. I then felt a hand wrap around my wrist, pulling me towards him. I looked up and saw Avery blue eyes turn dark.

"What are you doing here?" He growled in my face. I looked down to his hands, seeing one harshly grip my wrist and the other one hold a gun.

"I was just walking home-"

"Why?" He cut me off.

"Because my dad told me...about my first born." I looked away from him. I could tell he was mad about that topic.

"So why were you out this late?" He relaxed a bit.

"I was just walking. I couldn't be in the house...with him. I didn't mean to be out this late." I explained. I then heard a gunshot, making me jump. They killed that guy.

"Go home." He said lowly, letting go of my wrist. I looked at him.

"Now Emerson." He pointed. I turned around and walked away. He's in a gang? Well of course he is, he has that whole look to him. When I got to the house I saw the lights on, meaning they were still awake. I walked inside and automatically heard yelling.

"I should of never married you!" Mom yelled. She was crying and Dad touched her shoulder, she pulled away.

"Bailey.."

"No! Don't talk to me. You gave away our grandkid to some person before He or she was even born!" Mom yelled in his face.

"It was either that baby or our daughter."

"We would never be in this mess if you never got involved with the mafia in the first place!" Mom has tears streaming down her face. Realizing they weren't gonna know I was standing there, I quietly walked upstairs. When I closed my door I heard something that made my eyes widened,

"Tomorrow, after our daughters arranged wedding, I am leaving you and I'm getting full custody of her. You will never see her their future child again."
