2 months later...
"Ok Mrs. wood, are you ready?" The nurse asked, looking down at me. I looked up at Avery, to already see him staring down at me.
"Yeah." I breathed out. I felt Avery squeeze my hand. This was it, the day we were gonna find out the gender of our baby. I couldn't be any happier.
"Ok. The gender of your baby is-"
"Actually, I would like it to be mailed to me." I cut the nurse off. Avery gave me a confused face, not really sure what I just did.
"Uh why?" Avery asked.
"The baby shower. I want the gender reveled at the baby shower Aspen is throwing me Saturday." I said. The nurse nodded in understandment with a smile on her face.
"How'll aspen know the gender of you want it mailed to you?" Avery asked.
"I'll give her the envelope instead of opening it." I shrugged. The nurse whipped the jelly off my stomach and pulled my shirt down. I smiled and said a small 'thank you' before she walked out of the room.
"I have been waiting for this day since I found out you were pregnant." Avery narrowed his eyes at me. I was now sitting up on the table with him in between my legs. I grabbed his face with both of my hands and smiled.
"All you have to do is wait two more days, babe." I leaned in a pecked his lips. He groaned and threw his head back.
"Two days is a long time." He whined. I rolled my eyes and smacked his shoulder.
"You'll be Fine." I assured him. He helped me off the table. The doctor came in with the discharge papers and Avery signed me out.
"So what do you want to do now?" I ask as we walked out of the hospital. The frosty wind hitting my cheeks, probably making them more rosy then what they already are.
"Get you home, I don't want you to get sick." Avery replied as he opened the car door for me. I scoffed and looked at him.
"Home is boring." I said as I sat down in my seat. He chuckled and shook his head as he closed the my door.
"It doesn't have to be boring." Avery assured me as he got in the drivers seat.
"I'm already pregnant, Avery."
"Not what I was thinking Emma." He chuckled. I couldn't help the smile that form on my face.
"Then what were you thinking?" I looked over at him. His gaze was set on the road as he shrugged.
"Maybe a movie night?" He suggested. I thought about it. Snuggled up in a blanket, drinking hot chocolate, watching a movie with mom and a Avery doesn't sound to bad.
"Ok." I agreed.
*~*
"Do it, and I'll break your finger off." Mom threatened. Daren put his hands up in defense.
"Feisty." He winked at mom. She rolled her eyes and continued making the hot chocolate. I wrapped the fuzzy grey blanket around my body and walked out of the kitchen.
"Daddy's home or why him?" Avery asked as he held up the two movies for me to pick.
"Why him." I said. He nodded his head and put it in the DVR as I sat down on the couch.
A few minutes later mom and Daren came in the living room with the hot chocolates. Me and Avery got situated under the blanket as mom and Daren got situated under theirs. I already texted aspen and told her about the gender reveal thing. She is so happy about it, I could literally hear the excitement from the phone.
"So what's the gender?" Mom asked, her face holding excitement.
"I don't know." I smiled. She knitted her eyebrows together in confusion.
"You don't know?" She asked.
"I want aspen to reveal it at the baby shower Saturday, so I told the nurse to mail it to me so I can give it to aspen." I explained. Mom looked at Avery before looking back at me.
"But two days is far away." Mom whined.
"See! I told you two days is to long." Avery smirked. I rolled my eyes at him and mom. I turned in my spot and watched the movie.
As I sipped my hot chocolate I couldn't help but think about the baby. What if it has a health problem? Wouldn't they of told me that by now? What kind of allergies will he/she have? What if dad tried to take the baby? My eyes watered at the thought of dad, the man that has hurt me more than anyone, taking away the only thing that can make my life normal. I love this baby so much, and if dad takes it away from me I'll be broken.
"Are you ok?" Avery's voice pulled me out of my thoughts. I looked up to already see him looking at me, the light from the TV allowing me to see the concern on his face.
"Yeah." I gave him a small smile. He looked at me for a minute, studying me to see if I was lying. He sighed and pulled me closer to him. I rested my head on his shoulder. Soon enough my eyes started to get droopy and my body started to become numb. With one yawn I closed my eyes and let sleep take over my body.
*****
This chapter was not as long as the other chapters, and I'm sorry. I've been busy a lot and as I was writing I realized that some of the things don't make sense, or I didn't explain them good.So Emerson got pregnant in November in the book, and now it's January. Yes, I do realize I skipped Christmas which I'm not proud of, but I really wanted to get to the baby shower because let me tell you, shit is about to go down at the baby shower😂
