"GET YA BOOTY UP!!"
My eyes shot open as my ear rang. My hand reached up to my right ear, rubbing it. I looked at aspen and narrowed my eyes at her.
"Was that necessary?" I asked. My voice was raspy, considering I just woke up.
"Yep." Aspen chirped. I looked at the clock to see it was 12pm.
"It's to early." I complained. Aspen rolled her eyes.
"Oh stop complaining and get up, it's your baby shower." My best friend grabbed my hands and pulled me to where I was sitting up. The sunlight that was invading my room hit my face, making me groan. "Here!" Aspen said as she threw pants at me. I caught them, thanks to reflex.
I got up and went to the bathroom. I changed into the pants, seeing they still fit me surprisingly. I've only worn joggers or sweatpants for the past month.
Aspen came into the bathroom with a blue and pink shirt in her hand.
"Are you team boy or girl?" She asked. I looked at her confused, only for my eyes to trail down to her shirt to see her wearing a blue shirt with the words 'team boy' across it.
"Why are you team boy?" I asked.
"Because your moody, and always hungry. Usually when someone is pregnant with a boy they act that way." She explained.
"Wow didn't know you were a scientist." I teased. She stuck her tongue out at me. I looked at the shirts, thinking about it for a minute. I never really thought about what gender of the baby I wanted. I guess it doesn't really matter. But it seems easier to take care of a girl than a boy, but if I had a girl I would have to deal with her periods and drama and worry about her getting pregnant as a teenager. But that could go both ways, If I had a boy I would have to worry about him getting a girl pregnant, or breaking someone's heart. I sighed before making my decision.
"Girl." I said. Aspen smiled brightly before handing me the pink shirt. She shut the door as I got changed.
I brushed my teeth, washed my face, brushed my hair and put it in two Dutch braids on the side of my head. I then applied a minim amount of makeup. I put deodorant on my underarms and then sprayed myself with my favorite VS perfume.
I walked out of the bathroom and saw aspen sitting on my bed. She looked at me and smiled, "You look good in that pink shirt."
"Shut up." I rolled my eyes and smiled. Me and her walked down stairs, only to hear mom and Daren talking and laughing.
"Stop!" Mom giggled. I slowly walked in the kitchen to see mom laughing and looking at Daren, and Daren having a cupcake in his hand. He put the cupcake up to moms nose, but mom quickly grabbed his hand. "Daren don't do it." She warned. He then smashed the cupcake on her nose, mom closing her eyes at the impact.
"How's that cupcake that's supposed to be for the baby shower?" Aspen asked, bringing mom and Daren out of their daze. Daren wiped the blue icing off moms nose.
"Sorry. But they are good." Daren smiled.
"You ate one!" Aspen groaned. Mom laughed. I took time to look at everyone's appearance.
Moms hair was straight and cascaded down her shoulders, she had tan matte lipstick on, her grey/blue eyes popped out thanks to the mascara she was wearing. I then realized that she was wearing a pink shirt with 'team girl' written on it and black leggings. I giggled, if course she would want a granddaughter.
"I see your team girl to." Mom smiled. I looked down at my shirt and smiled.
"I guess we're twins." I smiled back at her. She looked down at her watch and her eyes almost popped out of the sockets.
