Chapter 4 Land of the Waves

The crash of the waves, smell of the salt, and fog all around us was peaceful. But the creaking of the paddle made all of it creepy.

"This fog's so thick. You can't see anything," Sakura informed us

I turned around from my place at the front of the boat and faced her,"Oh, really. Thanks a lot captain obvious." she gained an irk mark on her for head.

"The bridge isn't far now. Our destination's just ahead. The Land of Waves." Cue pretty music. We could now see the bridge and all the machinery on it.

"Wow. This bridge is big. You sure an old man like you helped make it Tazuna?" I asked innocently.

"Why you little-" 

"Mr. Tazuna" Kakashi cut him off. He asked Tazuna who was after him.

"The one who seeks my life is a very short man, who casts a very long and deadly shadow."

"A deadly shadow. Hm, who is it."

"You know him. At least I'm sure you've heard his name before. He's one of the wealthiest men in the world. The shipping magnet Gato."

"Gato! Of Gato transport. The business leader. Dude, you're in some deep shit..." I exclaimed.

"Who is this Gato?" Sakura asked. Tazuna then explained that Gato is in the Drug business and has tea parties with gangs. Also that when the bridge is done he won't be in charge of the Land of Waves anymore.

"So that's it. Since your in charge of the bridge your standing in this gangsters way." Sakura

"That means those guys we fought in the forest, they were working for Gato." Sasuke sipped on his juice.

"I don't understand. If you knew he was dangerous. Knew he'd send ninja to eliminate you, why did you hide that from us?" Kakashi

"Because all the people from the Land of Waves are poor. People who are building the bridge, like Tazuna, probably can't aford an A or B-rank mission." I said

"How did you know that?" Tazuna asked

"Only an idiot cheapskate would pay for a C-rank, or someone who had little money."

Tazuna then talked more about how if we leave him he'll die and the bridge won't be made. He then imitated his grandson crying and his daughter living in sorrow after his death. "Ah well, it's not your fault. Forget it."

"Well, I guess we have no other choice. We'll have to keep garding you." Kakashi

"Aw~ I'm very grateful." Tazuna

"We're approaching the shore." Our driver informed us, "Tazuna, we've been very fortunate. No one has noticed us so far."

"Nice going."

We entered through a tunnel with light at the end of it. We were now in the Land of Waves.

"You're home is so pretty, Tazuna." I said,"Too bad it's ghetto..." Our driver left and Tazuna said to take him to his house in one piece.

We were now walking in a forest. I went ahead of the group in search of a certain pet. I saw some bushes move so I jumped in them.

"Naruto!"

I ran to Kakashi and showed him the bunny. "Um Kakashi? There are no white rabbits at this time so..."

 He yelled for us to get down and when I hit the dirt the bunny ran away T^T. The sword we ducked under was now embedded in a tree and no other than Zabuza was standing on the hilt. After Kakashi announced who he was I did what I had been planning for months now. I gasped loudly and screamed"KYA~ Zabuza KYA~ Slit my throat!" I ran at him, hearts in my eyes, but Kakashi stopped me.
