Chapter 22 He Who Has Awoken

I had finished my food and set if aside,"So. You have any family?"

"Maybe. Do you  have a map?" he unhooked a scroll from his belt and gave it to me. I unrolled it in front of me and he pointed at a spot on the map.

"We're here in The Land of the Fangs." We're fairly close to my old home. If they're even still there...If they aren't we can work in someone's field in exchange for a place to stay. Some of the people there should remember me. "How far away are you from home?"

"Once we're rested we'll be out of your hair."

"That's not what I asked kid. And the two of you aren't going alone."

"We both got here with just the rags on our backs. We are more than able to get home."

"He's been unconscious and you were just about to pass out."

"We will be going alone."

"Look. I know that you've been through a lot and you really want to go home, but I just want you two to be save and to know that you'll actually get home. Okay?"

I didn't reply and he was about to speak again when I heard a groan. I whipped my head around and saw Shounou rubbing his eyes. I moved to his side and looked at his face. He moved his hands away and opened his eyes. They widened and he threw his arms around me. He pulled me onto him and held me tight.  He ran his fingers through my hair and kissed my temple,"Thank Jashin." he whispered out,"Where did we end up? Are you injured? Do you have all your limbs?"

I was shocked at first but quickly replied,"...We're in the land of fangs. And I'm fine." he sighed in relief and continued raking his fingers in my hair. My head lay on his chest directly above his heart, it's beats calming me. I'm so glad he's okay... His stomach roared.

"You have anything to fuckin eat. I'm starving." I laughed and got up. He sat up and looked at the guard,"Who're you? Can you get me food?"

He walked into the kitchen.

"So. What have I missed?"

"Not much." I lowered my voice and got closer,"The man and woman seem alright but..."

He nodded,"Better safe then sorry...",he fixed my hair and straitened my clothes,"Where did we get the clothes from?"

"The woman. It's her son's old clothes."

"Do they have names? You've only been referring them by their gender."

"Haven't exchanged any."

"...If they ask anything give vague answers. If they want us to go into detail say that we don't want to talk about it." I nodded and rubbed my eyes,"You tired?"

"A little..."

"How long was I out?"

"Four days."

"...And you took care of me and dragged me along the way the whole time."

"I didn't drag you."

"Go to sleep."

"I don't want-"

"Sleep." he flicked my forehead.

"Ow." I rubbed the red mark and frowned.

He gestured his head towards the other bed,"Go on." I sighed and slid to the edge of the bed. I stood and my legs gave out,"Oi!" he grabbed my arm and pulled me onto the bed,"If ya can't stand say so!" he smacked the back of my head,"Idiot."

The women had came out at that time with a tray of food,"You can't stand boy?"

"I'm just sore from straining my body so much."
