Chapter 35 And Our Child is....

We walk into the building painted with child friendly pictures and see children of all ages playing with each other, fighting over toys, and a few staring up at us curiously.

"Welcome!" a young woman with light brown hair pulled up greets us. She holds a small child in her arms,"I'll go get Meiko-san." she brings Meiko san to us and we go into her office.

We trade introductions.

"You are here to adopt?" the woman with short black hair asks. She puts on her glasses and begins to search through the papers on her desk.

"Yes." Kakuzu answers as we sit in the chairs in front of her desk.

"Is there a specific age you're looking for."

"No."

"Here." she hands Kakuzu a book,"All the children that reside here." He opens it and holds it in between us,"It's ordered by age."

*I fuckin wish that one brat that I saw was here. He looked kinda short. Hell I wish I knew how old he was.*

I fliped to a random page and saw him. Short dirty blond hair and grey eyes,"That one."

"Wait, Mabo. We've hardly ev-"

"I don't fuckin care. That one!"

"Mabo, language. I'm very sorry about him."

I took the photo out of the album and walked out the office.

"Mabo!"

"Hey, girl."

She looked up from her cleaning,"Um, yes."

I showed her the picture,"Where's this kid?"

"Oh, Nao should be in the library."

"Where the hell's that?"

"Um down the hall, third door to the left."

I ran down the hall and slammed the door open. I saw a small form sitting on the window seal jump.

"Nao. That you?"

"Yes?"

I walked up to him,"I saw you kick that one kid yesterday." I said smirking.

His eyes widened,"You did? Please don't tell Meiko she'll get mad."

"I won't kid." I ruffled his hair,"How old are you?"

"Six."

I looked at the book he was reading,"You like books?"

"Yeah."

"You like it here?"

"...I guess."

"You guess?"

"Everyone is nice but..."

"You're lonely. Aren't you?" All the other kids are playing with that girl while he's here in this dark library by himself.

"Yeah.." He pulled his knees to his chest.

"How about you come home with me?"

"Eh?"

"Come home with me. When I saw you yesterday I knew I wanted you."

"Really?"

"Really." He threw himself on me and hugged me tight. I smiled and picked him up. He wrapped his arms around my neck and smiled too,"What's your name, mister?"

"Hidan."

"...And you're my..."

"New dad."

"...Daddy? You're my daddy?" he asked with teary eyes.
