Chapter 23 The Cursed Demon Child

I searched through my  closet and found some shirts and pants. My door opened and kasan peeked her head in,"Kasan, I found a few of them. Where did you first find them?"

"Your dresser drawers." I looked in there and found a few more,"I think that will be enough for them. Do you have anything else that you can give to them?"

"My old bags in the closet in the hall."

"The messenger bag."

"Yeah, and the backpack"

"Anything else?"

"I don't know. This book I never read." I showed the book to her.

"Get the bags out of the closet and put all the things you don't want and think they would like in a pile."

"Okay." I continued looking through my things and she closed the door.

Katsuo's POV 

I woke up next to something warm. I snuggled further into it trying to go back to sleep. Something poked my cheek,"The rice needs to be harvested."

I rubbed my eyes and yawned,"Where are my boots?"

I heard someone choke on a laugh. I opened my eyes and looked to the left. Shounou's face was in the pillow and he was shaking, hitting the matress over and over trying not to laugh. I shoved him,"You're so cute, little farmer."

"Shut up."

"Such a hard worker."

"Shut up!" I shoved him harder and he almost fell off the bed.

"Don't push me off! The floor's cold!"

"Finally awake, huh?" Tomatsu.

"He found some old shit to give us." we got out of bed and to a table in the living room. There were two bags, pairs of clothes, a book, matches, canteen, small knife, and two jackets.

"The jackets are pretty old and worn but they will keep you warm." there are a few patches on them but they look good. 

"What's the book about?" Shounou asked.

"I don't know I never read it." we packed everything into the bags and Yoshie came in once we were done.

"Do you have everything packed?"

"Yeah, Kasan."

"Good. I've finished breakfast."

We all followed her into the kitchen and sat down at the table. As we were eating Tomio came.

"You have everything packed."

"Yes." I answered.

"Think you still have room in you bags? I told my wife about you two and she wanted me to give you these." he took out a sack and gave us some oranges, apples, and peaches.

"Tell your wife we said thank you." Shounou.

We finished eating and got our bags. They walked with us to the road out the village.

"Thank you for your help." Shounou bowed,"We'll be off." he crouched down in front of me,"Get on."

"Huh? But I can wal-"

"You carried me for days. It's my turn."

"You don't have to."

"I want to." I reluctantly got on his back. He held me under my knees and I wrapped my arms around his neck,"Later!" he started running at an insanely fast rate. I almost fell off.
