Remember child...you are not fully of this world.

Opening her eyes slowly, Shureii recalled where she had heard those words from.

Ecahalt...She felt the small crystal hanging around her neck.

...I haven't forgotten...

Weakly supporting herself with her right arm, she pushed herself up into a seated position. The stinging pain her movements brought her sharply reminded her of the Avamaeborg King. Tenderly touching her bandaged bite, a troubled look came over her face.

...I know I shouldn't involve myself too deeply or else--

She quickly smoothened her expression when she heard the door open.

"Lady Shureii."

The Earl seemed slightly surprised to see that she was awake.

"Earl Koenrad." She greeted politely.

Closing the door behind him, he came closer to her. Quite unexpectedly, he knelt down beside the bed, looking up at her.

"Are you feeling unwell anywhere?" He asked, his eyes flitting to her bandaged bite.

Not expecting the genuine concern she heard in the usually flirtatious and annoying Earl, Shureii blinked, her hand touching her neck again.

"Ah, I am a bit tired, but otherwise fine. Thank you for asking."

Visible relief was evident in his eyes after hearing her words.

"Then that is good." He breathed out.

Getting up abruptly, he smiled brightly at her, stunning her.

"I will call a maid to help you get up. A walk in the rose garden reserved specially for our royal family will help you recover from your blood loss."

"..."

He was gone before she could answer. She stared dumbly at the door, left to her bewilderment.

What was that? When did the Earl become like that? And why...She looked down at the spot where he had been. Why did he smile like that? It was so unrestrained and...pure?

It seemed that the Earl wasn't the only one who acted differently around her. Everyone who saw her seemed to be slightly startled and then concerned about her.

Shureii began to notice this when two maids were sent in by the Earl. Upon entering the room, the two maids stood at the doorway frozen, just staring at her like they had seen a dragon appear out of no where. (Lols anyone remember this particular scene?  *wink wink*)

When the staring drew on for too long, Shureii let out an awkward smile, hoping to put them to ease after whatever they saw in her. It worked as they stopped staring and broke out into identically bright smiles and enthusiastically helping her to get ready.

It was in a similar manner that the other servants greeted her. After mulling over the oddness of everything, Shureii decided it must be that they thought she had bonded with their King.

Haaaaahhhhhh....this is quite troublesome. She thought, breathing in the fresh scent of roses mixed with some other scent she had never smelled before. This type of misunderstanding can cause a lot of problems. I hope it can be cleared up quickly.
