I heard your cries peoples! Here! A double update!! o((*^^*))o

As she fell, Shureii grew increasingly aware of her wound. Wincing at the pain her wound brought her, Shureii tried her best to hold the dagger in place to stop it from jostling too much and causing further injury.

It's too deeply embedded to pull out without having an immediate way to treat it...

Closing her eyes tightly, she couldn't help but wonder if she would die for real this time. Feeling an unexpected warmth behind her, she jerked her eyes open.

"Shureii!"

"Yuki..."

He was in his transformed state. His heterochromatic eyes looked down at her in worry.

"Trust me."

She nodded. Then without any warning, he pulled out the dagger, causing a muffled cry to escape from her.

"Hold on!"

With the dagger no longer a cause for further concern, Yuki was free to act as he could. Holding her closer, he kicked off the tower, landing on a lower tower.

"Shureii..."

Shureii forced a smile.

"I'm fine. It just hurts but it missed any vital points..."

Seeing his worried eyes, she touched his hand, squeezing it.

"I am really okay. Go."

"Your wound--"

"Will be treated by me."

Hearing the unexpected voice, Shureii turned her head to face the person pressing a cloth to her wound.

"Eiji..."

His kind golden eyes were the same as ever.

"I left you and this is how I find you? I told you, we need to get married, that way such things won't happen."

The words were light, but she knew her wound was troubling him.

"Then I leave her in your care."

"Should I take that as his acceptance of our marriage?" Eiji asked teasingly even as his eyebrows furrowed in concern as he lifted the the cloth away to see the wound clearly for the first time.

"But how? You were the one who gathered up the warriors? But that would have taken..."

"Over a year."

He pressed the herbs onto her wound, staunching the blood flow while simultaneously disinfecting the wound.

"I never forgot you."

What?!

Shureii was beyond surprised when she heard that. Eiji was definitely one of the main characters though!

"I felt something was off about your farewell and couldn't get it out of my mind. When I returned to my homeland, my memories of you kept fading and people in the village forgot you. Eventually I could only remember that I knew you, but had no memories of spending time with you."

He started wrapping her wound.

"It was then I found out that my father had not forgotten about you either."

He looked up at her.

"He was in a similar situation."

Shureii's eyes widened.

Similar situation...then she was a reincarnate as well?!

"It was with his help I regained my memories of you and also learned of the plans of the princess. Since then I was already readying for the battle."

Finishing up binding her wound, he lifted her up.

"It looks like the battle is starting to clear up."

It was true. From what Shureii could see, the enchanted warriors that the demoness had called out were at a disadvantage with the demoness caught. The fact that Louis and Eduardo had fended off the  first waves of the army had greatly diminished whatever advantage the army originally had.

With the arrival of the mage-like warriors Eiji had gathered up and the potions made with the help of Alois and the Gweawyr Kingdom, Yuki was doing well in disenchanting the army.

"Eiji, take me to Claire."

That caught his attention.

"What--"

"Eiji, please. There is something I must do. Something to avoid having the same thing happen again."

Her eyes never wavered as she faced his eyes head-on.

"Who am I to refuse you?"

Eiji...

She smiled up at him.

I knew I could count on you.

"Thank you."

Hearing this as he made his way to where he knew the others were keeping the demoness, he let out a sigh.

"I must be mad for listening to you."

"That's why I like you."

That shut him up. Shureii noted with amusement how even as he never stumbled in his walk and his expression never changed, his ears turned bright red.

Oops.

Shureii thought, forgetting yet again that she was a love interest.

Well, at least I now know how to shut him up...

Her amusement started to fade as the silence reminded her of the reality she was in. By the time they had reached where Claire was being held, all forms of amusement had left Shureii.

Seeing the shackled form of the snarling demoness filled her with no satisfaction. She only felt that the demoness received what she deserved. Nothing more. Nothing less.

"Eiji. Put me down."

Something in her voice pushed any complaints he had about her wound. Gently, he set her down. Holding her wounded side gingerly, she walked towards the shackled demoness.

When the others took notice of her, their first reaction was to protest and to stop her, but just like Eiji, their words couldn't find their way past their lips. Something in her eyes and her overall aura stopped them.

The way cleared for Shureii and it was in utter silence she made her way to where the demoness was restrained. Her mouth was gagged and some ancient runes were placed over her body.

Without changing her expression, Shureii reached out--her hand going past the runes with ease--and placed her hand on the demoness' cheek.

"Why don't you remember?"
