Because of the way I look, people saw me differently. When they saw me, they saw some other girl, not me. I was rich, yes, filthy rich. I dressed up in thousand dollar outfits every day, ate the best food, went to the best school in the country and for what, to end up like my mother. Unable to live in the world, but just stay at home living a luxurious life while waiting for my father to come home and tell her what to do. To have no skill and no job. I didn't want to be like her and more truly, I didn't want to be my "best friend". Lexi, yes what many would say my best friend. We met since the day we were born probably and inseparable since then. It wasn't like I was forced to be with her, torturing myself every minute, it was that by the time we were in high school is when my view on everything changed. And that's when I lost everything and everyone I ever knew. Right now I don't regret it for a second, not even him, but during that time nothing didn't but finding myself and him.

"Melon, pay attention!" Lexi said across the lunch table. We were having lunch outside and I was distracted by the kid hanging by the fence. "Sorry, yes and the pouch was in the sink... go on." I continued turning away from the boy. Lexi rolled her eyes and said with a smirk,"Who were you staring at?" I blushed for some reason and looked down at my sushi, "No one." She laughed, were you checking out that boy over there, pointing to where he was just a second ago. "No, and stop it." pushing her arm down. She laughed and said, "You've got to be kidding? You can't possibly be liking a kid from that side of town." she said while laughing. "Why can't I?" getting annoyed. "Well, um, obviously he's not your type.." she started. "Really, then what's my type?" I asked getting angry. "Mel, relax, don't be foolish, you deserve better. I know it's hard but someone will come soon, I promise. Just give it time and in the meantime don't look at the Dirts, please." she said while we're getting up to go back inside. I turned back one more time at that fence and thought about when that time was coming.
