I used to take her insults and keep it away, pretending that it wasn't there. But today, after being with Jake, I couldn't even look at her. I found no respect from her and I decided to take Jake's advice and take some initiative. But before I could, we heard her mom calling her come down to go home. Saved by the bell they say? I didn't say anything and she could tell that something was wrong and couldn't put it together. She waved by and left. I looked over to the window to see them drive away. "Melissa." I heard my mom say. I turned and saw at the doorway. I walked over and stood only feets away from her. "Yes" I said. "I don't know where to begin with you. What are you wearing, for goodness sakes." she said with a massive frown. I looked and didn't say anything. All I could think about was Jake and that moment outside of my house. I stood there wanting to push my mother away and run to him. After a minute, my mother spoke breaking me from trance. "If you're going to stand and say nothing, than I'm redoing your whole wardrobe. That's the end of it. No more of these reckless t-shirts." and she walked away. I rolled my eyes and closed the door and walked back to my bed. I layed down and saw that my phone was blinking, I reached over and grabbed it. It was Lexi, anger rose and ignored the phone call. She left a voicemail. I decided to hear it. "MELISSA!!!! ANSWER THE PHONE!!!!" I didn't want to and I didn't half to. I knew what she was going to say. Later that night I thought about Jake and how my life would change if I stayed with him and how no one would know, I couldn't describe the feeling. It was too much and I loved it.
