The song ended with a thunderous applause from the audience, some even tearing up. She took a deep breath in, calming down her heart that was shaken. For a moment, they looked into each other's eyes once more, but he quickly shifted his gaze away, as though she was just another audience who was captivated by him.

" As the clock strikes 9, it's time to commence our ballroom dancing. Daniel, do you have a girl in mind that you would like to dance with? "

The emcee asked as he smiled cheekily at Daniel, earning a few oohs and ahhs from the audience. Daniel ruffled his hair shyly, cheeks starting to tint pink. He let out a small chuckle before replying without hesitation,

" of course I do. "

As if on cue, the waltz music started playing and the whole crowd went viral, trying to figure who would be the lucky girl whom Daniel wanted to dance with.

" Kwon Chaerin, would you like a dance with me? "

Daniel cleared his throat as he spoke into the mic, immediately followed by a bunch of crazy fangirls squealing, and of course Chaerin was one of them. In the midst of everything, no one had even taken notice that a girl went missing. Not that she expected anyone to notice as well. Hyerin broke into a small smile as soon as Daniel announced his dance parter, the sides of her smile curving down, while tears continued to accumulate in her watery eyes.

" You thought so, Hyerin? "

she muttered under her breath, taking another good look at him before strutting in the opposite direction, leaving the venue. She sat at the bar, gazing ahead as she mindlessly ordered drinks that she never expected herself to even take a sip. Shots after shots, Hyerin continued to down the drinks with hesitation, even as her world started spinning.

As Hyerin was about to gulp another shot of drink down, she felt a soul hovering behind her. Before she knew, someone grabbed her hands stopping her from taking her drink. A tipsy Hyerin grumbled as she meekly tried to shake the hand away. She turned around sharply, glaring at whoever that stranger was. It was evident from the way she squinted to identify the person that she was drunk.

" oh! Kang Daniel! "

Hyerin broke into a giggle as she gestured him to seat next to her. Daniel shook his head, grabbing her hands as he tried pulling her away.

" you're drunk. Let's get you home. "

He stated. Hyerin shook her head vigoursly, strongly defying his orders. She grabbed another glass of alcohol, tilting it towards herself as she tried to drink another shot.

" Kim Hyerin! "

Daniel yelled as he snatched the cup from her hands, slamming it on the table before forcefully pulling Hyerin by her wrists.

" ow that hurts. "

Hyerin grimaced as she pushed Daniel's grip away, rubbing the sides of her wrists. She frowned, murmuring some gibberish incoherent words.

" why do you care?

Hyerin blurted out, making Daniel freeze on the spot.

" why do you care about me being sober or not ? How about spending all these time wasted on me caring for your Kwon Chaerin or whoever your sweetheart is. Stop fucking wasting your time on someone who is irrelevant in your life. "

That sent Daniel's mind into a complete blank, not having a slightest clue as to how he should defend himself. It was as though his mind wiped out by itself. He could feel her stares on him, as though she was expecting an answer.

" right, you have absolutely no reason to care about how my life progresses, so just leave my pathatic life alone as it is. "

Hyerin scoffed as she snapped right in his face.

" because I care. "

He divulged, fists balled up so tightly that they turned white.

The ranting continued until he suddenly stopped, peering towards the girl who's frail body was leaning on the counter beside her. Hyerin's complexion turned so white, the colour of a moonbeam. She bore the resemblance of what seemed like a porcelain doll.

Completely taken by surprised, Daniel hurriedly grabbed the latter as she lost consciousness before she fell on the ground. Sudden realization struck him-
