I woke up with a pair of arms wrapped around my waist. I snuggled into the warm inviting body next to me. The person tried to nudge me even more awake but I was perfectly fine how I was.

"Tess you need to get up." Calvin whispered into my ear.

"But it's so early. " I whined and burried my face into him even more. He smelt like the woods it was refreshing.

"No it's just that we had a late night. Come on get up." He kissed my forehead.

"No I don't want to." I told him stubbornly.

"Get up." He said in a sing-song voice. "Come on seriously we need to talk. I was supposed to already have talked to you and we were supposed to be gone." He got out of bed and pulled away from me. I opened my eyes just in time to see his naked butt walking away from me.

I got out of bed and picked up my clothes putting them back on. A shower could be heard running somewhere off to my side. I sat down on a chair in the corner and had a good look around the place.

It had everything a normal apartment would have minus the windows. I was shocked I thought the underworld would be different but I guess not. Actually I was kinda disappointed, oh well.

"You look disappointed." Calvin walked into the room his hair still dripping wet and a towel in his hand.

"I expected everything to be a little les...."I couldn't really find the word to discribe it.

"Normal?" Calvin offered.

"Exactly." That was a good as word as any.

"Well I'm sure the rest of the underworld won't disappoint. I guess we can start with any questions you have?" He asked me. Did I have questions, yes but which ones did I want to know the answer to and which ones did I want to leave in the dark.

"If you're a sixth degree then why are we here in the fourth degree?" I guess that was a safe enough question.

"You can't enter the sixth degree. You have to be a demon or invited by the king or queen. And well since you're a shape shifter." My eyes widened when he said that, how could he possibly know. "I'll answer that later. But you're telling people you are human so you can't enter. We could get you into a fifth degree place but this is where all the fun happens. Also it would be weird to see a demon and human together there. "

"So what exactly is fourth degree?" I asked him.

"Do you want to just explain all of them to you to save future explanation. " He stood up getting two bottle of something. He offered me one and I took it.

"That would be nice." I opened the bottle and smelt it. A thick fog poured out of the green bottle. "Magic." I said amused.

"Humans are a non-existint degree. First degree is ghosts, second degree is goblins, three degree is fairfolk, fourth degree is witches and warlock where all the fun is, fifth degree is shapeshifters, and then sixth degree where the rulers are and it's demons." He gave me a basic run down as we sipped our magic.

"Why are humans worse than ghosts aren't they the same thing once we die?" His gripped on his bottle tightened.

"No it's not. Ghosts are the lowest of the low. You don't become a ghost by dying Tessa." He told me the expression on his grave.

"What do you mean? " I asked him confused.

"I really like you Tessa you make me feel alive. I haven't been alive for so long." He smiled weakly and stood up. "Come on let's go."

I still had so many questions but it was obvious that now was not the time to ask. I got up and followed him to the door. I looked back at the rumped sheets on the bed, then headed out the door.

He took my hand and next thing I know we're in a club. The music was unlike anything I've heard before. A thick fog covered up to about my knees and a feel of magic cursed through the air. I suddenly felt completely undressed when a few people walk by me.

People all around me had wings, purple, blue, or green skin. Some had cat eyes and others had eyes that looked like they could consume your soul. The women looked extra slutty and the men looked extra dressed up. I felt completely out of place. I looked over to Calvin and he looked all dressed up and fancy.

"Where are we at?" I tried to say in his ear but I found that my voice drifted effortlessly through the air to him crisp and clear.

"We're at a club." He noted the obvious and I looked down at my outfit. I was surprised that it had changed. I was now in a black dress that clug to all the right places and was almost transparent. I looked at him pointedly.

"I look horrible." I tried to cross my arms over my stomach.

"You look hot. I don't even want to stay here I want to take you home." He said it was no be deal. Maybe it wasn't but I feel like something bad is happening.

"I feel like something bad is happening back at home. Maybe I should go back." I noticed that we were still holding hands. His grip on my hand tightened.

"I'm sure it's nothing. Don't you want to stay with me?" He looked so sad and I new that he was trying to pull at my emotions. He leaned in and kissed me, just like that I was a goner. "Please." He whispered into my ear. I nodded he smiled on my neck and kissed it lightly.

Hayden's POV

He was lost to much blood. No one bothered to try to contain me. They say the drugs should have worn off by now, but I'm still going into fits. It turns out John really didn't know where Tessa was. But it was to late the blade pierced his heart. He should have died earlier but he fought hard.

I'm not being put on trail everyone knows that it was the drugs. I think everyone is afraid that I'll turn on them too and that's why they've left me. Eventually someone went and got Kyle out of the cell. He was pissed at me and has been avoiding me. I don't blame him. He's upset that Tess is gone just as much as I am but no one seems to care.

Tess isn't an important issue to anyone but me and Kyle. Kyle because he's going to end up with her in the end anyways and me because until whatever it is that is supposed to happen to me I will love her more than anything.

"I'm sorry but we've searched the grounds Tessa is no where to be found." Someone whispered into my father's ear.

"Hayden." My dad called out but I shooked my head.

"I don't give a shit where the slut went she's out of my life and I'm glad." I yelled.

"The drugs still haven't worn off but I'm not going to lock you up she isn't here so there's no point." He said to me then turned to the person that whispered in his ear. "Call of all searches."

"We need to find her!" I yelled at him.

"Why so you can hurt her. So you can kill her like you killed John. It's not happening son. It's almost been a whole day if she wanted to be found we would have found her by now." He told me.

I pulled a flask out of my jakcet and took a long drink. I don't remember getting a flask but I didn't care.

I found Kyle, finally. " We need to find her." I told him point blank.

"I'm not going to help you." He told me and tried to walk away. I stopped him by grabbing his arm but he jerked away.

"I know you want to find her." I can't be the only one.

"Of course I do. But we want to find her for two totally different reasons." Then he walked away. I want my girlfriend back. I need her back.

I want her here to comfort me, even though I'm the reason John is dead. I want her here to tell me it's not my fault. I want her to tell me it was all the drugs that it wasn't me. I want her to tell me that I wasn't there, that I wouldn't have killed him if it wasn't for that. But maybe I would have just killed him anyways maybe I felt like he deserved to die.

A/N I might do a part two to this chapter but I'm not sure this might be the chapter I just wanted to get a update out for you guys. I didn't spell check it so sorry for any mistakes
