When Patrick lands in the hospital with a broken foot after a concert, Pete tries to make his stay as pleasant as possible. (316 words)
"Pete, I've told you. You don't need to stay tonight. I'm definitely not more important than your sleep. We have a concert on Friday anyway, you need to get as much sleep as you can. I'm fine. Promise. They've already put a cast on, they just want me to stay overnight to be safe. Please, just go home." I pleaded, glaring at him., but he just stayed put, ignoring me completely.
"No, Pat. I want to stay with you so you aren't all alone here. And I'll get to be with you, so that's a plus." He laughed as I swung at the air, trying to hit him, but he was too far away and I couldn't stand up yet. I pouted a little and crossed my arms causing him to come and sit beside me, kissing the top of my head.
"You can hit me if you still want to." He said, extending his arms out.
"No, I couldn't hurt you," I admitted, scrunching up my face for a second. "Well, if you're staying, what are we going to do?"
"I don't know, sit and talk I guess, but I'd say you'll fall asleep soon with all that medicine they gave you." He told me, looking at his phone. I just nodded my head and looked out the window to be greeted by a beautiful pink, red, and gold sunset.
"Wow..." I breathe, wishing I could take a mental picture, then realizing it was the 21st century and I could take a picture with my phone.
After I had snapped at least 10 pictures, Pete nudged me.
"Hmm?" I mumbled, suddenly feeling really tired.
"Scooch over." He said, motioning to the bed.
"Ok... What for?" I asked, not realizing the obvious.
"Because, dummy, I want to lie with you. Duh." He answered, climbing into the -very tiny- bed with me and holding me by my waist so I didn't fall off.
