"Patrick? Is that a ring brochure?" Joe had walked into my room without knocking, which in turn interrupted me looking at rings.
"Um..." I tried to come up with an, well, any excuse to get out of it, but I knew I couldn't. "Yeah, it is."
"What are you doing looking at rings?" He questioned, clearly not thinking of the obvious reason.
"I'm- wait. Before I tell you, you have to promise not to tell anyone, ok? Not even Andy, and especially not Pete." He nodded after I said this, eyes full of curiosity. "Alright... As you know, Pete and I love each other very dearly, and we've been dating for 2 years. So, I decided that I would propose."
"AHHHH OH MY GOD ARE YOU SERIOUS MY BABIES AE GOING TO GET MARRIED AND HAVE BABIES YESYESYESYESYESYESYES!!!!!!!!!" He yelled, ignoring the many glares from me. Thankfully, we were home alone.
"Joe, calm your imaginary tits. I haven't even proposed, I don't even know if he's going to say-"
"Don't you even think that. We know that Pete will marry you. He's been gushing about you to us ever since he first laid eyes on you." He told me, giving me a small glare, but practically failing cause he was smiling too much.
"Now, we need to stop because Pete's going to be home any minute now and I do not want him finding out about this! Why did even come here?" I asked, realizing I never thought about why he just barged into my room.
"Oh yeah, I was lonely and wanted to see if you could hang out with me." He explained, shrugging and standing back up(he had sat down earlier).
"Oh, oh yeah. You wanna go watch crappy horror movies and yell at the characters?" I suggested, getting up my bed.
"TOTALLY"

It had been three days since I had walked in on Patrick looking for rings. So far, we had been to 2 different stores and were at our third one. Patrick couldn't find anything he thought was right. I kept showing him different ones, gold ones, silver ones, silver with red, gold with red, nothing was right. We had been at this store for an hour! This was beginning to get ridiculous, but I guess I somewhat understand the desire for it to be perfect.
"Joe! I found it!!! This one! This is the one, it's absolutely perfect!" Patrick came running over to me, waving his arms and collecting multiple weird glances from the staff and other customers. But he didn't care, his face was like one of a child who got a dog for Christmas.
When he showed me the ring I felt it too. It was perfect for Pete. A simple black band, with black rhinestones through the middle. It just screamed Pete.
"You're right Patrick, it's perfect." I told him, my voice slow and calm. Nothing like what was happening inside my brain. Oh my god it's actually going to happen. They're getting married. Patrick and Pete the couple to beat all couples.
