'Man, I can't believe Dumbledore died!' Why? Why in the entire world did those have to be the first words be my soulmate said to me? Because seriously, do you know how embarrassing it is to tell your friends 'Man, I can't believe Dumbledore died!' is the first word my soulmate says to me? They laugh and laugh and laugh... It's freaking terrible.

For all my life I've been awaiting those words. The words tattooed on my right forearm. I have yet to hear them, nor have I yet to figure out who 'Dumbledore' is. It is always in the back of my mind. "Who the hell is Dumbledore?" "How does he die?" "How do I know this person and how does my soulmate know this person?" I've been patiently (kind of) waiting for 19 years. And nothing. Not even a mention of this Dumbledore.

Today is no different. I woke up, stared at my arm for a minute or two, thinking again about this Dumbledore character, and then brushed my teeth and showered. I didn't have to work today, and it was summer, so, obviously, no school to think about. I grabbed my phone and headed out my door to the local bookstore/cafe. It's where I go every weekend when I don't have to work or don't have a mountainous pile of homework due the following Monday.

When I opened the door, I was greeted by the comforting smell of coffee and books. Nothing better than that. I strolled over to the YA fantasy section (don't you dare judge, there are some good books there), and began looking for some new books to read. I had, of course, already read The Fault In Our Stars, the entire Divergent series, and was debating whether or not I should start reading Harry Potter. Today, I decided to go ahead and try it. I picked out the first of seven 'The Sorcerer's Stone' and went to the check out counter.

After buying it and an iced caramel mocha latte, I sat down in the comfortable chairs by the back and began reading.

"Mr. and Mrs. Dursley, of number 4, Privet Drive, were proud to say they were perfectly normal, thank you very much."

The first sentence and it already seemed pretty cool. I think I'll like this series.

(one and a half months later)

I was currently at the bookstore again, finishing the fifteenth chapter of The Deathly Hallows. When I did finish the chapter, I closed the book and sat it down on the table in front of me. Leaning back in my chair and rubbing my eyes after finishing a long binge reading session(this one consisted of the last seven chapters of The Half-Blood Prince and fifteen chapters of The Deathly Hallows) was something that had been occurring a lot lately. It only took about four or five hours, no biggie, right? Yeah, ok keep telling yourself that

"Man, I can't believe Dumbledore died!" I felt someone tap me on the shoulder and I jumped. Wait a minute. My eyes widened and I shifted in my seat. I didn't even have to look at my arm. This... This was my soulmate.

I looked at the guy standing in front of me, he was probably about 5'6 or 5'7, only a few inches taller than me. He had dark, straight hair that swooped across his face and some of his left eye, classic emo hairstyle if you ask me. My eyes traveled around his whole body. He was wearing tight, black, ripped skinny jeans, a Nirvana shirt, a leather jacket, and black, low-top converse. It never really struck me that my soulmate could be a guy, but now that he's here, in front of me, I don't really mind. He was pretty attractive, well, really very attractive. He had beautiful hot whiskey eyes and a genuine smile. I could get used to looking at him. He was also very slim, his arms were slightly toned, and, since he was wearing skinny jeans, I could tell his legs had some slight muscle to them, but in all reality, they were tiny little sticks.

(have you figured out this is in Patrick's POV and he's describing Pete yet?)

"Hey, dude?" He spoke again, waving his hand in front of my face. I shook myself out of the trance I was in and looked up at him.

"I-I'm sorry, was I staring?" I mentally cursed for stuttering, looking down at my shoes.

I heard footsteps walk around the chair I was sitting down and then his voice again. "Just out of curiosity, what does your tattoo say?"

I shot my head up at him. He must know we're soulmates now. "Man, I can't believe Dumbledore died!" I whispered, keeping eye contact. He smiled when he heard me, glancing down at his own arm.

"Well, mystery boy, I believe we're soulmates."
