MAI'S POV
After that little prank I played I was sentenced to making lunch for everyone. Like I always do for them.
"Mai, are you done yet?" John asked as he entered the kitchen and started helping out.
"Almost done. could you chop those green onions?" I pointed at the green onions and he nodded.
After eating, we all went to do our jobs inside the office with the SPR irregulars just lazing around outside while we the regulars are busy filing the solved cases.
'Mai tea' Naru mind-linked me and I chuckled. It's been so long since he did that.
'Okay Naru' I mind-link back and started preparing his tea. After preparing his tea I went inside and was shocked to see rose petals scattered all over the place.
"What the heck?!" I said as I put the tea by the table on the door and walked around his office. It was filled with so many rose petals and candles. it was romantic. . I wandered towards the wall where his calendar was and saw that today was marked. What the heck is today?
"Hey Mai.." Naru suddenly called me and I saw him standing by his table on the side.
"Hey Naru, what's all this?" I asked him and he just smiled.
"I wanted to ask you something. ." He said, my heart suddenly palpitated and in the depths of my mind I knew what he saying I just wanted to deny it.
"What is it?" I asked him and he drew a deep breath.
"Okay.. I think it's time for us to-" "Get a puppy?"
"No to-" "Get to a doctor's appointment?"
"No Mai to-" "Get a new camera? Catch Ghost? Get a case? Put up a new kettle? Give them a-" he suddenly stopped my blabbering mouth by kissing me on the lips. That effectively shut me up.
"No, Mai please listen to me.. It's been three years since we've been together. Three years since you've been working for this narcissistic prince.. Three years since you saved me from over-stressing over Gene, three years off loving who I'am" I was shocked with what he said. My heart beated faster and I thought it was going to come out of my ribs.
"You never flinch when we have a case. You always smile even in the middle of something so scary. You always try your best in everything you do. You've become my center.. You've become my world. I don't what I'd do without you.. When I thought you were goig to die become food for the ghost. . I felt my world crash around me.. I felt like I would anyone who would touch that I would kill anyone who even comes a centimeter near you.. That's because I love you Mai.. ever since you came into my life you'd always been there for me, smiled for me, cried for me.. Did everything just to make me say that I have the best assistant.." as he said every sentence his face grew more and more serious. My heart almost stopped as his gaze pierced me to the deepest parts of my soul.
"The best girlfriend" he said as he put his forehead against mine. .
"And I hope... You'd be the best wife I could ever have." he said as he kneeled in front of me with a velvet box showing a diamond studded ring with a silver plate. I couldn't speak, I was too shocked to comprehend anything.
"Mai Taniyama, would you have the courtesy to marry this messed-up, narcissistic, egotistical jerk and have him as your man?" he asked his eyes glittering with nervousness and anxiety.
"Y-YES!!!" I said as tears started falling from my eyes. I couldn't believe Kazuya Shibuya would be the last person I would think of to do something so romantic and yet he did it with flying colors.
"Oh thank God!!!" he said as he hugged me and twirled me around in a circle. He laughed a boyish laugh as he kissed me swiftly on the lips leaving me breathless.
"What did you thought? I wasn't going to accept you? are you an idiot?" I said as I smacked lightly on the head.
"I had my doubts you know" he smirked at me and I glared at him playfully. He kissed me on the lips a little more passionately this time and I smiled in the kiss.
"I love you Mai."
"I love you more Naru"
"I love you the most" he said and smiled.
"You never let your self lose do you?" he nodded like a pretty little boy and I laughed.
"I love you... to infinity and beyond!" I said and I kissed him yet again.
"You yourself don't want to lose no?" and I nodded to him.
"You're so crazy" he said and smiled at me while he put me down.
"You know you love me." I said and he laughed.
"Did my narcissistic attitude rub off on you because I don't want that to happen. I want you to be as innocent and cute as possible" I scoffed at him.
"You're just too egotistical for your own good are you Naru?" he smirked at me and kissed my forehead.
"You know you love me."
"I do, you narcissistic jerk" I said and I smiled at him.
Everything is going just right and being with Naru is the best.
