Chapter 9

Charlene 's POV

" Charlie! " Ebony said to me as I was walking to class. We hadn't ended on the best of terms after the incident.

" Yeah? " I said, as she caught up to me and started walking next to me. I didn't even look at her, nor did I pay attention to her using the nickname I hated.

" I'm sorry about yesterday, I wasn't thinking straight. Will you forgive me? " She said a bit stiffly. I smirked.

" Heh, being soft isn't going to get you many places. But sure, I forgive you for now. " I said. I kept my eyes straight ahead of me.

" Thanks... " She said.

" It's fine. Come on, we have class. " I said.

" Oh, right. Let's go. " She said.

And just like that, I had won the argument we barely had.

~ Time Skip ~

Me and Ebony walked out of class. A gang of  Ravenclaw girls walked out before us. They seemed deep in conversation. One of them bumped into me.

" Hey! Watch it! " She said.

" You were the one who bumped into me! " I responded.

" You shut up you half blood. " Another one of them said. I stared them straight in the eye. The girl quivered under my gaze, but her friends were dumb enough to keep going.

" Yeah, that's right. And it doesn't help that your dear brother is in Hufflepuff of all houses! "  I bet it was him who let it slip. Moron.

" It looks like the Malfoys are loosing their reputation~! "

" Seriously, they had it all and threw it away! "

" They've even said that the Malfoys and the Potters are getting along! "

" Shut up! You don't even know the half of it! " I snapped. " I doubt any of you are any better. "

" C'mon Charlie, let's just leave. " Ebony said.

" Pfft, running away now are you? I doubt that will help. "

" Derek is soo dead when I get my hands on him... " I said under my breath.

" Come on girls, they aren't worth our time. " The leader said. They left, but not without one rolling her eyes at us.

" Hey, have you seen Derek around at all? " I asked Ebony innocently.

" No I haven't. You want to talk to him? " She asked.

" Oh yes, more then just that.. " I added bitterly. I thought he was smart enough to follow my lead!
