Seraphina's POV:
Suddenly the creatures started to retreat. I glanced around me, ministry employees were walking through the entrance to Hogwarts and were casting spells everywhere. Soon all of the creatures were gone.
"Sera! Are you ok?"
I turned around and saw Mia coming towards me. "Yeah, I'm still okay. You?"
"I'm good. The healers helped me..." She hesitated for a moment. "Sera?"
"Yeah? What is it?"
"It's just... Have you thought about how they managed to make it onto the grounds?"
That question stumped me. "I haven't actually..."
"Well, I have, and it must have been pretty impossible for them to arrive here without anybody noticing."
I frowned. "You have a point."
"Of course I do. Don't suppose we're gonna be getting any answers soon though."
"You're probably right."
Mia fingered the necklace I had given her. "What is this?"
"Oh, umm... Well, I enchanted it."
"To do what exactly?"
"Well, when the wearer is attacked or in danger, it will... Put up a umm... Kind of force field."
"You made it?"
"-With help from Kettlepot."
Mia nodded slowly. "Can I keep it?"
"Course." I shrugged.
"You realise I'm gonna be quizing you about this over the summer and stuff, yeah?"
"I don't doubt it."
"Do you think we'll still have to finish the school year? It's only december."
I thought for a moment. "They'll probably let us off for a few months to check it's safe, then send us back for the last couple months and exams."
Mia breathed out. "Good, we're still doing exams."
I just looked at her like she was crazy.
