Charlene's POV
I sat on my bed, wondering about what was going to happen. It had taken me ages to find a way out of the castle and as much as I love my brother I didn't trust him enough not to tell anyone, well, except for his friends at least , they can keep a secret, I think. I don't know them that well anyway. Why did I even agreed to let him bring his friends? At least he had his Hufflepuff loyalty down. I was stupid to think that he was going to come without a bargain
I returned to the news article I was reading. A lot of creatures had gone missing and it was starting to worry the ministry. The Aurors had even gotten involved. I put down the article and grabbed the letter I had been meaning to look at. I'd sent a letter ( you know, the muggle way ) to my aunt ( mother's side, first time I willingly talked to her actually) asking her to give me a list of places that I could go to if I needed it. In the letter, She said that I could go to hers any time I needed it. I thanked her in my reply( as if I had any other option, I have manners you know ) and lay down. I had no other option, I'd have to stay at her's. I had no muggle money to stay in a hotel with and besides, I'm 12! I can't even do magic, legally at least.
Well this sucks. Derek'd be fine with it, he always got along with the muggle side of our family, I was the one who never wanted to go to family reunions. Dad never understood. He didn't get why I always hung around granddad Draco at those times. He always liked me.
I've got to stay hidden until the attack happens. I'll keep track on the Daily Prophet, it'll be there for sure. I won't have to listen to my aunt for too long, thank Merlin. I've just got to get away with one bit of underage magic, and it'll be fine.
I yawned. I looked out the window, and saw that the sun had set already. I smiled. Better get some sleep.
