Joe's pov

After arriving from the park, Britt and I decided to go back to my apartment. She wanted to watch Joe and Caspar Hit the Road which I happily agreed to.

"Alright popcorn is ready and the movie is set, let's do this!" I sat next to Britt and put a bowl of popcorn on the table. She reached for the popcorn and grabbed a handful, shoving it in her mouth. I laughed and turned my attention to the movie.

"So what does Vanessa do? Is she a youtuber too?" Britt asked me while shoving some more popcorn into her mouth.

"No she's actually a magazine writer. She interviews people." I explained to Britt while trying not laugh at her mouth filled with popcorn.

She nodded her head and suddenly moved closer to me. I looked at her confusingly and raised an eyebrow at her. She winked playfully at me and started tickling my sides. "No stop! This isn't fair Britt!" I started laughing uncontrollably.

She wouldn't stop so I decided to get back at her. I pushed her hands away and immediately started tickling her. She held onto my hands, trying to push me away but she wasn't strong enough.

Suddenly, she leaned forward and fell on the floor. I followed after her and landed on top of her. I started laughing loudly as we both fell to the floor. But that wasn't stopping me so I decided to keep going. I felt a presence and I slowly looked up and saw Vanessa standing at the doorway.

I quickly stood up and tried explaining to her that it was a misunderstanding but she let out a small whimper. That shocked me and I immediately tried to hug her, comfort her, but she shoved me away and ran out. I quickly ran after her and tried opening her door but it was locked. I banged on the door and yelled her name but no answer.

I slumped to the floor and put my face in my hands. I couldn't get her sad face off my mind. Her whimper really shocked me. She was so close to crying and I bet she was crying. All alone.

I stood up and kicked the door before walking back into my apartment. "Goddammit! Fuck!" I pulled on my hair and started pacing around, slamming my door shut and keeping my gaze on the floor.

Britt walked into the hall and placed her hands on my shoulders. "Joe it's okay, it was just a misunderstanding."

"But she doesn't fucking know that and she's probably crying all alone!" I turned away from britt and went to sit on the couch. She slowly walked towards me and sat next to me.

"Don't worry Joe, if she really trusted you she wouldn't have run away like that. Maybe you should rethink this?" Britt held my hand and squeezed it lightly.

I quickly turned to her and pulled away from her grasp. "Are you kidding me? Vanessa is an amazing girl and she probably ran away because she trusted me! I can't just fucking sit around and rethink things!" I stood up and gave a deep breath. I'll make things right. I was about to open the door when I heard voices.

I stood there silently, trying to listen to the hushed voices. I could barely hear anything but that was when a door shut loudly. I heard another voice and steps following after.

"Come on- I'll- you- my place." I could only hear pieces of the conversation but I immediately recognized the voice. It was Jack. Of course he would be here!

What if Vanessa called him? Did he call her? Fuck, what's he going to do with her? I opened my door quickly but no one was there anymore. The elevator showed they were in the lobby. I cursed myself under my breath while running a hand through my hair.

'My place' was all I could remember. I really hope Conor is there or else this is going to be bad. I can't leave Vanessa alone with Jack, I know he likes her and he's not going to let anyone get in his way. But that's why I'm here, I won't let Vanessa go.

I quickly ran back to the living room and grabbed my phone. "Wait Joe, where are you going?" Britt stood up from the couch and walked over to me. She grabbed my arm and tried pulling me away from the door.

I shoved her arm away and started calling an uber. "I'm going to get Vanessa and make this right."

"Joe, you don't even know where she is! She's probably sitting in her apartment, stop being so silly!" She was beginning to laugh but I ignored it.

"I can't lose her, Britt. She's important to me." I walked out the door and shut it behind me. What's her problem? Of course this isn't silly, I'm being serious. And I'm very serious about Vanessa.

I stepped outside and waited impatiently for the uber. I tapped my foot on the concrete and checked my watch every minute. Once he arrived, I quickly told him the address and scrolled through Twitter. One post stood out to me, it was from Conor and Jack.

Jack: Eating pizza with an amazing person! Oh and Conor

Conor: @Jack I thought I was always special!

There was a picture of Vanessa and Conor, each taking a bite out of a slice of pizza. Of course Jack would call her special! Can't this uber drive faster? I bet Jack is already flirting with Vanessa. I need to get there soon, I can't lose her.

The uber finally arrived and I quickly thanked him before hastily getting out of the car. I clenched my hands into fists and walked over to Jack's apartment. Every step I took made my heart beat faster with fury. He wasn't going to take away Vanessa from me.

Even if he is my friend, I will still get jealous. I know his true intentions and he's not going to get away with it. Vanessa belongs to me and yes, I'm getting possessive but I can't help it.

I clench my jaw shut. Jack's apartment door is right in front of me. One small action can lead to many consequences. I smirk and pound my fist on the door.

Vanessa is in there and she's coming back with me.
