Vanessa's pov

Jack posted a picture of Conor and I eating pizza. I laughed at Conor's face as he bit his pizza. "I love it! I'm going to save that." I opened up Twitter and saved the picture.

Jack and Conor smiled at me and we continued eating pizza and chatting about random things. "So, what do you think about your singing voice?" Conor asked me as he finished his third slice of pizza.

"Well it's not that great, why do you ask?" I shrugged my shoulders and took the last bite out of my pizza.

"He probably wants you to record a song with him." Jack said in a sarcastic voice.

Conor laughed and shook his head. "It would be a good idea but no I'm just asking. I don't know if that's possible anyway."

I chuckled and licked my lips. Jack stared at me and I gave him a confusing look. "Yes, Jack?"

"Sorry, just don't do that alright?" He looked away as his face flushed pink.

I laughed and did it once more. "What, don't lick my lips?"

Conor laughed and nudged my arm. Jack scoffed at us and began cleaning up. I looked at Conor as he gave me a wink and a thumbs up. I chuckled and sat on the couch.

The doorbell rung and I glanced at Conor as he walked over. His eyes widened as Joe's voice sounded from outside. "Jack you better fucking open this door! I know Vanessa is in there with you goddammit!" Joe banged on the door.

Conor looked at me worriedly as Jack glared at the door. "Let him in." I sighed and shrunk back into the couch.

Joe burst in through the door once Conor opened it. Conor stumbled back as Joe pushed his way inside. He saw Jack and stormed over towards him. "What the fuck! You can't just take Vanessa away!"

"Mate, she was fucking crying because of you! I had to do something, I'm not leaving her alone like you!" Jack spat at Joe and his knuckles turned white as he clenched his hands into fists.

"What makes you think I would fucking leave her!?" Joe grabbed a handful of Jack's shirt collar and pulled him closer. His eyes were narrow and filled with rage.

Jack shoved Joe's hand away. "What the fuck is your problem? Vanessa called me and I needed to help her. Unlike you."

That seemed to make Joe tick and he threw a punch at Jack's face. I winced and tried hiding further back into the couch. Jack groaned as his cheek began to turn a light shade of purple. He touched his cheek and flinched. It clearly looked like it stung as it was beginning to swell.

"What the fuck has gotten into you!?" Jack hissed as he began talking and shut his mouth quickly. He glared back at Joe and raised him arm.

Conor shook his head and sighed, running over to grab Jack's arm. He stopped Jack from hitting Joe and stared at them. His gaze was stern and harsh. "Both of you are being idiots! Can't you see how much you're hurting Vanessa?"

I winced as Conor shouted at them, I haven't heard him yell and it was sort of scary. Connor pointed at me on the couch which made me freeze in my place. Joe turned to look at me and his expression softened. He didn't look angry and he seemed to relax his whole body. I felt my eyes water as he walked towards me. He sat down next to me and held my hands. I flinched at his touch but he didn't let go.

A hot tear fell down on my cheek and Joe wiped it off with his thumb. He sighed and rubbed the back of my hands with his thumbs. I couldn't look at him, I kept my gaze on our hands as I whimpered softly.

Conor and Jack went into another room, leaving us alone. I appreciated their consideration and a small smile formed on my lips. "There's that smile I love." Joe said and lifted my head to meet his gaze on me.

I immediately frowned as I looked at him and he sighed. "Vanessa, I'm sorry. It wasn't what you thought, Britt fell and pulled me down with her. We were just playing around." Joe squeezed my hands and narrowed his eyes.

I bit my lip and looked away. I wanted to believe him but for some reason my head was telling me otherwise. "I can't." I finally spoke up but my voice was barely even a whisper.

"I know you're upset and you should be. Please just forgive me, I would never do anything with Britt. My heart belongs to you!" Joe brought my hands up to his chest, where his heart was. I could feel his heart thumping quickly.

I shut my eyes tightly and bit my lip harder. "Joe, stop. I don't know if I can." I wasn't making any sense. All I knew was that I wanted to forget everything that had happened. But I just couldn't, my heart hurt.

"I know you hate me right now but please, can't you understand that I wouldn't do that? I love you." Joe breathed in deeply and I felt something wet land on my hand. I opened my eyes and saw Joe crying.

I shook my head quickly and hugged him. "I'm so sorry. I'm just being an idiot, please stop crying. I can't stand seeing you like this." My tears began falling onto Joe's shoulders as he hugged me tightly. I breathed in deeply, taking in his scent that I missed oddly enough.

"No, I'm the idiot. I shouldn't have left you alone like that. I'll always be by your side from now on." Joe ran his hand through my hair and kissed me softly.

I smiled as my tears fell, making the kiss taste salty. I could feel Joe smile into the kiss as I wrapped my arms around his neck.

"Well it looks like you two made up." Conor walked in and smirked as I quickly let go of Joe.

Jack showed up behind Conor and rolled his eyes. "Quite literally too."

Joe beamed a smile at Jack and held my hand. "I would never hurt Vanessa." Joe said as he turned to look me in the eyes.

I blushed madly and squeezed Joe's hand. "Thanks Conor and Jack for making me feel better. And especially thanks to Jack for worrying about me." I stood up and hugged each of them.

"Yeah no problem. And if Joe ever does something stupid again, you know who to come to." Jack said as he gritted his teeth. His cheek was beginning to form a bruise. Joe noticed but didn't say anything.

I smiled apologetically at Jack, I knew he liked me but I can't be with him. I felt bad for Joe punching him but I didn't expect an apology to come from Joe. I knew he didn't regret it and he wasn't going to take it back either. Conor nudged Jack's arm and Jack smiled weakly back at me while shrugging. I chuckled softly and left with Joe, holding his hand.
