The early morning sun shown through the window as I groggily got out of bed. I opened the window as a soft breeze blew through the room. The house of horses hooves echoed off the passing buildings. I got dressed and combed back my air into a neat ponytail. I fumbled with my overcoat as I walked down the stairs. Burr was waiting at the stair well with his arms crossed looking at me with a frown.
"Is something wrong sir?" I quivered looking at his displeased scowl.
" For what I heard form some people this morning a British ship caught fire early Thursday morning, you wouldn't know anything about that since you were out that time of night?" Burr asked his tone low and tempered.
I looked defeatedly at Burr as I sighed.
" Listen, it was an act of political rivalry." I explained.
" It wasn't my idea anyways...I was dragged into it." I added.
Burr held his hand up to stop me.
" We're independent Ezio, let's keep it that way." Burr growled.
Burr looked away with a sigh.
"Anyways the day is new." He said.
" I am going to be busy down at City Hall all day, I want you to keep an eye on Theodoisa while I'm gone." Burr said with a slight smile.
I crossed my arms as I laughed.
" Are you saying I have the day off?" I grinned.
"Don't get used to it." Burr retorted with a small smile.
He walked to the door, putting on his coat and tucking away a piece of paper in the pocket.
" I'll be back around supper, I plan you to be here when before I get back." Burr ordered.
"Yes sir." I said.
Burr nodded slowly as he walked out the door. For the first time I heard sinning in the kitchen as I turned with a small smile. I quietly walked to the entrance of the kitchen. Theodoisa was merrily flipping cakes on the oven, her singing brights and cheerful. I smiled as I walked in. Theodoisa immediately stopped when she saw me her face growing red in embarrassment.
" I didn't mean for you to stop." I chuckled.
She shrugged, looking at me with bright eyes.
" Anyways, good morning Ezio!" She smiled.
"Morning." I replied walking over to her peering at what she was cooking.
" Breakfast will be done in a couple of minutes if you can wait that long." She laughed.
I rolled my eyes sitting down at the dining table.
"Where's Burr?" Theodoisa asked serving out the cakes on the table.
"He's down at City Hall doing some work for today, so it's my job to look after you when he's gone." I explained eyeing the delicacy in front of me.
"Really?!" She exclaimed.
" I mean, do you have any plans today?" I asked.
"Hmm..well..I've always needed some time to go down to the market place and then we can go downtown and visit the city park and.." Theodoisa said enthusiastically.
" I can tell Burr doesn't let you go out on your own very often." I laughed.
"No..not often at all." Theodoisa sighed.
"Well Burr isn't here is he?" I winked.
" You're to kind Ezio." Theodoisa scoffed, rolling her eyes.
"Would you like some water?" Theodoisa asked.
" Yes please, that would be nice." I said with a warm smile.
She nodded then left the room. I smiled thoughtfully, Theodoisa was a sweet, kind girl. I really admired her company. My eyes lifted to the table. A newspaper laid folded next to me. Curiously I spread it out to read some of the headlines. Most of it was filled with politics and arguments form the different houses of congress. I sighed as I read through one of the head lines.

"Alexander Hamilton stands against Aaron Burr on his own faction about the new line of government Hamilton wants to appoint to."

I shook my head slowly as I read through the article.
"Damnit Hamilton, what are you getting yourself into." I murmured.
I quickly shut the paper as Theodoisa walked through the door. She poured us a glass of water before sitting down for breakfast.
"So Ezio, how do you like your first couple of months here in New York?" She asked.
" Very stressful, so much to accomplish in so little time." I sighed.
Theodoisa nodded slowly talking a bite of her cake.
" Still it's a lovey city, and I enjoy working under Burr's wing even though he can be a pain in the ass at times." I smiled.
Theodoisa laughed.
" My father can make a conversation one sided at times, but from my point of view he's been teaching you so much and it's been paying off." Theodoisa said with a small smile.
I nodded with a smile. We ate down our breakfast, offering to wash the dishes while Theodoisa got ready to go out.
I was waiting at the door as I saw her walk down to stairs a a emerald green dress, her hair up in a neat bun. She blushed when she saw me.
" Ready?" I said taking her basket as we walked outside.
The sun was already beating down on the street. Carts rolled past, dogs barked in the distance and people crowded the streets. Talking between themselves as they hurried by. I looked back at Theodoisa with a smile as we walked together towards the marketplace. I enjoyed the stroll from every shop, as I peered at everything the market had to offer. At one point I lost Theodoisa through the crowd, looking around with a frown scanning the crowds of people. Suddenly I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned, Theodoisa laughed as she presented me with a bouquet of red roses.
"Aren't they beautiful?" She beamed.
"Sure are." I replied admiringly.
She handed them to me. I paused looking at her.
"For me?" I asked.
"Put them in your room, they'll be a nice decoration." She smiled.
I took the roses with a smile.
"Thank you Theodoisa."
We proceeded down the market, as Theodoisa finished up her errands. Afterwards we found ourselves heading up to the city park. A crowd of people stood at the entrance. I looked on with a curious expression. A voice was heard form the middle of the crowd. We walked closer to we could hear better.
" Extra, extra!" A young boy called.
" A British ship caught fire to an unknown cause last Thursday, increasing the possibility of an attack because of some careless actions!" The boy shouted.
My blood ran cold. My heart began to pound as I looked at Theodoisa my face pale.
"Are you ok Ezio, you don't look so good." She asked with a frown.
I shook my head, clearing my thoughts.
" I'm fine." I hissed annoyingly.
"Let's go."
We walked through the park entrance, I kept my gaze ahead, my mouth shut not looking back at Theodoisa.
" Was it something I said." She huffed with a frown.
I took a deep breath glaring back at Theodoisa.
" No." I grumbled.
"Listen, it's nothing you should be worrying about." I sighed.
Theodoisa looked me strait in the eye.
" Suite yourself." She huffed passing me.
The sun was beating down on our backs and necks as we walked through the park. Birds chirped in the trees as pesky mosquitoes buzzed around our faces.
The sun was now setting slowly, as the sky illuminated with the most brilliant orange.
"What is the time?" Theodoisa asked still little flustered.
I flipped open my pocket watch which was dangling from my pocket.
" It's uh...5:30." I said squinting at the small numbers.
Theodoisa crossed her arms.
"My father will be expecting us pretty soon for supper so we must get on our way." She said.
I nodded with sigh as we made it back to the streets again. We eventually made it back to Burr's residence.
The house was silent, the floorboards creaked as I stepped forward so Theodoisa could get through.
"I guess Burr isn't back yet." She murmured.
Theodoisa walked hurriedly towards the kitchen. Setting her basket on the table, rummaging through her items. I followed her into the kitchen looking curiously at the items. She looked at me raising her brow.
" Excuse me." She huffed.
" Are you still angry at me?" I asked with a sigh.
Theodoisa crossed her arms.
"I'm just worried about you." Theodoisa said looking down at the kitchen floor.
I blinked, not knowing what to say.
" Ezio I love your company, every time I see your face I can't help but smile, but what if you get yourself into trouble, injured or...killed." Theodoisa quivered.
I looked into Theodoisa's dark brown eyes.
" Listen Theodoisa, you don't need to worry about me." I replied in a soft tone.
"Yes, I do get into messes at times but it's nothing I can't get out off." I sighed.
Theodoisa looked at me with a slight smile.
"Alright...if you say so." She said softly.
I took her hands and gave her a reassuring smile. All of a sudden the front door swung open. Burr walked in,  a sullen look on his face, sweat rolling down his forehead. He grumbled between each breath he took.
" Father." Theodoisa said as she walked over to him.
"How was your day?"
Burr shook his head slowly.
" I swear to god, all of congress wants Hamilton dead." Burr spat.
Theodoisa stepped back as I looked at Burr with a frown.
"Oh." She murmured.
Burr took off his coat then walked upstairs in utter silence. Theodoisa looked back at me.
" I don't get it, everything that Burr is fighting for abc against...what is it all for?" She asked.
I took a deep breath.
" Come." I said.
I led Theodoisa up the stairs and to my room. I stepped aside as she gasped when she saw piles of papers, documents and essays piled on top of my desk.
"Government, politics, congressional statements." I breath picking up at paper.
"It's what hold our nation together."
Theodoisa picked up a paper examining my writing.
" What I've written and what's been given to me is only a very, very small portion of hundreds of thousands of papers that run our nation." I explained.
She looked back at me.
" I see, I just never knew." She replied.
I laughed.
"Don't worry Theodoisa, what is on my desk is only the beginning, in a couple of years the whole house will be filled to the ceiling with papers Burr and I have written." I smiled my tone drained.
Theodoisa laughed turning to the door.
"I should get to bed." She said stiffly.
I nodded.
" It's been a long day, I'll be up again along Burr's side writing and reading until my damn hands fall off." I sighed.
Theodoisa laughed.
"Goodnight Ezio." She said waking out the door, closing it behind her.
I sighed as I crashed into my desk. I decided to write my Uncle again. I was hoping he's been getting my letters, even though he hasn't replied. Busy old man.

"Dear Uncle,
The date is August 29 1795. My first couple of months here in New York have been really busy. Aaron Burr had worked me half to death but he has good potential and has been teaching me well. I am learning more about the government and position of congress here in the states. I've been meeting more people very day and have become more familiar with the city. I expect a tough but prosperous live here. Also, I have been becoming good acquaintances with Theodoisa Burr, Burr's daughter. She is sweet and kind but also a loud voice and an enthusiastic way of getting things done. Anyways, I hope that this letter finds you soon and I hope you can write me back when you have a chance. I hope that I'll make more progress and lean much as I can for the years to come.
Con Amore, Ezio Auditore."

Late summer crept into fall, as leaves on the trees began to change and the wind started to blow in the cold. Drowned away in my studies, my writing became more prominent and serious. All of what Aaron Burr has taught me is coming into place. I'm down at city hall more often, taking a job as an accountant for Burr's financial plans. Burr says I have a long way to go before I can be seated and talk with the heads congress. Fall flew past in a color of leaves, leaving cold frosty air in its place. Pretty soon winter came along, a very cold long winter.
