I walked down the candlelit street. I wore my strikingly handsome navy blue coat with the gold trim I wore to Washington's reception. My hair was slicked back into a neat ponytail. The dance took place down at City Hall (of all places). I talked to Philip a couple days ago and we planned to see each other there.  Burr unfortunately had to stay home and pay off some taxes (which I knew he was pleased about not going). I heard music playing faintly as I came around the corner. People were filing into the hall. Men with long coats, curly wigs and canes strode in with women dressed nicely at their sides. I entered the main hall, people were talking as the room hummed and glasses clinked with bubbling champaign. I followed a crowd of people into the right wing of the hall. A huge ballroom stood stories high. Glass chandeliers hung form glowing golden ceilings. Music played joyfully all around as I looked around, my heart fluttering with excitement. Some people looked at me with admiration as I smiled back at them.
"There you are Ezio!" Philip's voice called form behind me.
I turned with a smile.
"Hey Philip." I greeted.
"You look quite striking." Philip said with a laugh.
"Not bad yourself." I replied, looking at Philip's purple vest and flowing sleeves.
Philip shrugged.
"I would of worn something else if my mother hadn't persisted on me wearing this." Philip chuckled.
Philip and I had our gaze turned to some girls that laughed as they passed us.
"Ladies." We both bowed as they passed us.
" I call the one in the blue uniform." One whispered to the other.
"I call the one in the purple vest." The other one said.
I chuckled as I looked back at Philip.
"So who's all here?" I asked.
Philip looked out at the crowd of people.
"Well my mother and my aunt Angelica are here...possibly some of my peers from my collage?" Philip said.
I gave a huff of amusement.
"Speaking of Angelica." Philip pointed out, as Angelica walked up to us.
"Good evening Mr.Auditore." She greeted with a curtsy.
I bowed back.
"Madam." I said.
Angelica turned around then looked back at me.
"I think someone would like to have a dance with you." Angelica said with a quick smile.
I peered over her shoulder to see Theodoisa at the other side of the ball room. My heart fluttered as I saw her looking at me, blushing deeply as I smiled at her.
"Thank you Mrs.Schuyler." I replied.
Angelica smiled as I walked towards Theodoisa. I looked back at Philip who was getting dragged away by one of the ladies we saw a couple minutes ago. I turned my gaze back to Theodoisa. The music started to play again as people started to take the floor with their partner in hand. I walked over to Theodoisa as she looked up at me with sparkling eyes.
"You look beautiful this fine evening." I smiled as I kissed her hand.
She looked away with a sheepish smile. I looked over at the dancing couples.
"May I have this dance?" I asked.
She smiled at me starting deeply into my eyes.
"Yes please." She murmured.
We stepped out onto the floor. I lifted my hand on her waist the other one on her shoulder. She did the same. We started to waltz to the music, as we stared into each others eyes. She looked down for a moment.
"I'm sorry that way I acted a couple weeks ago." She apologized.
I shook my head, as I smiled warmly at her.
"No worries." I cooed.
She blushed as she smiled at me. We danced around the room in a rhythmic waltz. My heart pounded in my chest as I looked at Theodoisa's dark brown eyes. Something clicked inside of me, as I felt a strong passion rise form my chest. Could I be falling in love? Who knows. We kept on dancing until the music faded. We let go of each other as we smiled at each other as the ballroom rose with applause. I led Theodoisa from the floor as we talked softly to each other.
The night ticked on. Theodoisa and I talked to each other with bursts of laughter. Philip too had a special someone by his side as we watched amusingly as they danced around the ball room. When Philip was free, the three of us stuffed our faces full with deserts that laid on the table. People that passed by looked at us with disgusted faces. Soon the dance dwindled into the wee hours. Philip had to go home, after he said goodbye to us and to who he claimed was the love of his life as she went back home to her family.
Theodoisa and I strode down the quiet streets back home. The stars scattered the sky, Theodoisa rested her head on my shoulders as we stopped for a moment looking up at the glistening dots in the blackened sky.
"Ezio?" She asked.
"Hmm?" I replied resting my head on hers.
"Do you...love me?" She asked with a edgy tone.
I blinked.
"Oh course Theodoisa." I coped kissing the top of her head.
She smiled as we carried on our way. We finally reached the doorstep of Burr's house. Theodoisa looked up at me with sparklingly eyes.
"Thank you for tonight Ezio." She breathed.
I gave a soft laugh.
"Thank you." I said.
I held her hand as I bent down for a kiss. All of a sudden light form inside the house pored out into the street. I froze as we quickly broke apart. I turned to Burr who had his arms crossed, as he glared at the two of us. Theodoisa embarrassed ran inside. I looked back at Burr who looked down at me with an unamused look. I tired to utter a word, but was cut off.
"Just don't say anything Ezio." Burr growled.
I gulped back my words as I just nodded. I walked in as Burr closed the door.
