We went spiraling through the air and then landed in a vast desert. I got up and rubbed my head, I was tired of getting my brain jerked around all the time. The sad part is that half of it was physical.
“Where are we?” Darian asked, rubbing his head as well. At least I wasn’t alone. Daichi just pointed behind him to the pyramids and crowd of people not far from it. We were far away enough not to be seen though.
“What is that supposed to mean?” Darian asked, eyes squinting in the sun.
Melanie slapped him in the back of the head. “We’re in Giza, idiot!” she said, shaking her head.
“So where is the headquarters?” Piper asked. Harumi smiled widely and pushed the button. We were transported again and then inside a lighted area with hieroglyphics and bricks.
“Oh my God. We’re in the Pyramid, aren’t we?!” Slade exclaimed excitedly.
“Close,” Alistair said, smiling at Harumi and squeezing her hand, “We are under the sphinx.” He said.
All of our jaws dropped as we looked around the interior. Egyptian people walked around the hallways and the ninja’s ushered us out of the walkway. We went to the end of an adjacent hallway to a large door with golden hieroglyphs on it. I had seen enough of these places to realize that this was the throne room.
We walked through and saw an Egyptian woman sitting at a stone throne with golden accents. Her eyes were painted in the classical Isis style and her gown was green with a golden symbol of Amen-Ra in the center. The ninjas approached first.
“Mistress Bahst, we must speak with you about the Canadian Cloister.” Daichi said.
Mistress Bahst opened her eyes and looked down at us. “I am well aware of the situation and have already assembled a fleet to send with you to Canada to overthrow the Tyrants. You may rest here for a while, no one, not even Odion or Rommuel can get into this fortress. Please be gone in at least a week though, you haven’t the time to dally.” She said. We bowed our heads and left. It went much better than expected.
We were escorted to our own common room which had doors leading to a room on each wall of the common room. There were plenty of rooms for everyone, and I guess when you have the entire underground of Egypt to work with you could make as many rooms as you wanted. Everyone went into their rooms to sleep, except for me. I was thinking over what had happened and how I really was just deadweight for everyone else. I heard a door open and close. I knew who it was before he sat down.
Keegan sat down on the couch next to me where I had my chin resting on my knees and my arms wrapped around them. He looked over to me. “So, are you going to tell me about the stupidity you displayed back there?” He asked harshly.
I continued to stare at the wall. Finally I spoke. “What do you want to hear?” I asked.
He sighed and got up. “Lynette, why are you being like this?” He asked.
I sprung up at this and got up in his face. “Why am I being like this? Keegan, I have been a hazard ever since we left Canada! Hell, I got someone killed! I am DEADWEIGHT the more I am around, the more danger you guys are in.” I said.
“It’s not always about you Lynette! In fact, nothing ever has been! Why do you think this?” He said, equally as angrily.
“I didn’t say it was about ME I said that I was the danger factor. I need to get out of here.” I said.
