Mike's pov

So, Kara lives next door. Right across the street.

I honestly don't want to stay here. I know I'm not welcome and I most certainly don't want to impose myself in this family. I devised a plan running off first thing at sunrise, but then I saw Mrs. Danvers' car parked right in front of the house next door.

I suddenly had a reason to stay. It might be the worst idea sticking around casa de Luthor, but if it gets me even closer to Kara, then I'll be unpacking my bag...

Lena's pov

I'm not exactly in breakfast mood.

But I sat at the table anyway, playing with my cereals, scrutinizing the spoon, and listened to Dad's every word as he told me why Mike is here. Who, by the way is sitting across me, playing with his cereals and scrutinizing his spoon as well.

Indeed, we are siblings...

"He's still a minor, not even seventeen just yet... he has nowhere else to go, so," dad blabbered on.

Apparently the bank took their house that has been in foreclosure, and his mom signed up for rehab. Mike would be around up until his mom becomes a sober, productive citizen of this nation once again...or until he turns eighteen.

That would be just great. An inevitable event is about to happen where this house will turn into ground zero, Mike will be the nuke, mom and dad will be North and South Korea... As for me? I'm about to become a casualty of war.

I'm going out now because the air around here suddenly became suffocating for me...

"Leaving so soon, sweetie? You haven't even touched your breakfast..."

"I'm late for school, dad" I said as I got off my seat, turned my back in one swift move, leaving both father and son to bond over cereals and coffee.

Good luck to both of them once Mom's back from Juneau...

Kara's pov

I'm sitting by my window, when I spotted Lena stomping her way out of their house.

I was going to call out when I also saw Alex ambush her on the street. What is Alex up to now? It seems like they're having a normal civilized encounter, but still, it made me edgy. I decided to go out down there and interrupt...

I ran my way down the steps and I was by the front door when mom showed up to my face, with her hands on her hips.

"Where do you think you're going, young lady?"
