Lena's pov
It's all about timing.
That's what I told Kara about coming out to my mom. She said true, just add a couple of tequila shots to gather the courage.
She's also working out the timing and courage to tell her mom, because she just can't drop that bomb, when not so long ago, her cousin Alex dropped the same thing.
Only people who knows the real score between us are Maggie and Winn. And probably Lucy Lane too, that girl who took the pictures from homecoming.
And also her friends, that includes but not limited to Veronica Sinclair, the rest of the cheerleading squad and the football team and the water polo team, half of the faculty and the lunch lady at the cafeteria...
Oh, fine...the rest of the school.
Now, I'm at soccer practice, sweating my pits running from one end of the field to the other, while half of my brain's struggling to ignore the snide remarks of my teammates while trying to figure how to come out to my parents.
And the other half of it is focused to that exquisite piece of art I call my angel sitting on the bleachers with Maggie and Winn.
If the story of me and Kara being together has reached the principal's office, mom would have raged out of her hole and drag me to Camp Wilderness to sing kumbaya and be reformed, then fed to the grizzlies.
"Keep your head in the game, Luthor! We need you with us," Barbara Gordon, a midfielder, said. She also happens to be the team captain, so yeah, let's follow the chain of command here before I get myself a yellow card.
"Yeah,...sorry," is all I can say.
"We need to score, if we're going for that spot at regionals...aim your strike at the net, not the bleachers..." Barbara lectured as she ran past me.
She caught me stealing glances at Kara on the bleachers strumming her antique looking guitar. I wonder what she's playing. Other than the girl herself, I also love her singing. She smiled at me and I gave her a little wave.
"Luthor!" I heard Barbara call out, snapping me out of my happy thoughts. "Team huddle!"
So, there I was running yet again slightly behind Barbara Gordon and the rest of the team towards the grumpy faced Coach Henshaw.

I think soccer practice is over.
I can see the rest of the team walk out of the field with their gym bags. But I can't seem to find that one fine looking lady who has taken my heart by storm.
Okay, that was a little bit poetic, but I really don't care. Maybe Lena and I talked about keeping a low profile about us, sure, but the way I describe how I feel about her would never stay low.
