"Killian!!" Ava Jones' voice echoed up the stairs calling her son. He was hiding, fully aware his mother was not pleased at the mess he just trekked through the house. He crept out from his room. Her little boy was quite cute, dark black hair, a cute little grin, and bright ocean blue eyes. He had yet to lose his baby teeth, even at 8 years old. He looked down at her from atop the staircase, she crossed her arms, "Killian Jacob Jones, you get down here right now," Ava said. She had quite the commanding voice, and her son came slowly down the stairs. He stopped on the stair level with her, to look her in the eye. "You are a mess, into the bathroom, and put those messy clothes into the hamper," Ava said. "Ok Mummy," He said.
Killian had an adorable accent, like his father, Brennan Jones, originally from England. Killian was overall a pretty good boy, but he was quite active, and did get into mischief fairly often. Ava wanted him to start making some real friends, he was a bit of a loner, he didn't really get close to kids at school. Ava cleaned up the floors and waited for her husband to come home.
The sound of the front door echoed, there was a bell on it, as it opened, and Killian came running knowing it was his father. "Papa!!" He said excitedly, and Brennan scooped up his son. Brennan had a large stature, standing over 6 feet, and a nice scruff on his face. "Hello Lad," he said smiling at his mini self in his arms. "Well I have news," He said carrying Killian into the kitchen, "Mmm," Ava said as he kissed her hello. "What?" Killian asked, his father placed him on the counter. "Well, my coworker, Henry, and his family are moving in next door, you may have a friend," Brennan said, "What's his name?" Killian asked, "HER name, is Regina," Brennan said. "A girl?" Killian asked, Brennan chuckled, "You may not think you like girls, but I assure you, you will soon enough, and she's rather tough, bit of a tom boy, I'm sure you two will get along," Brennan said.
"Oh well that's nice," Ava smiled, "A girl? Mum," Killian sighed, "Why don't you wait until you meet her before you go assuming you won't like her?" Brennan asked, "Ok," Killian said, "They are moving in this weekend, I've offered to help of course," Brennan said, "With you," Brennan said, "Me?" Killian asked, "Yes, you can do little things, or entertain Regina," Brennan said.
Henry, Cora and Regina Mills were moving next door to the Jones'. They were finishing up packing their old apartment, Regina sighed, "Don't worry sweetie, you'll make new friends, and we're moving next door to a boy your age," Cora said. "He won't like me," Regina said, "Why would you think that?" Henry asked, "Because I'm a girl," Regina said, Henry picked her up, "Well I like you," Henry said, "You're my Daddy," Regina said playfully rolling her eyes, "True, but I know his Dad and he told me all about his boy, and I think you two may get along, though I may have to make sure I know his intentions," Henry said smiling. "Henry, they're 8," Cora said. "Go double check your room baby," Henry said putting Regina down and she ran off.
"Still need to check his intentions with her, 8 or 27, I need to know, protect my princess," Henry said. Cora smiled, and they got things packed up, and finally they figured things were ready to go. "Can't believe we're leaving where Regina was born," Cora said, "I know, but, nice new place, big yard, and maybe a nice little friend for her. "Daddy, you didn't tell me his name," Regina said, "Oh, his name is Killian," Henry said. "Killian...." Regina repeated.
The next Day
"Bloody hell, Killian Jones!" Brennan scolded, seeing a pellet fling by him, "Uh oh," Killian said holding his slingshot behind his back. "Come here," Brennan said firmly with his arms crossed. His son came up to him holding it behind his back. "Give it to me," Brennan held out his hand. Killian tucked the slingshot in his belt loop, "What?" He asked holding his hands out in front of him, "Really?" Brennan asked him and bent down, tugging Killian forward and taking the slingshot from his pants. Killian sighed, "I told you no slingshots, unless you want to spend some time over my knee, I suggest you leave it alone, I'm hiding this, if I catch you with it, you will be sorry lad," Brennan said. Killian sighed, "Go get your shoes, now," Brennan commanded, patting his son's behind.
"Your Son," Brennan said showing the slingshot to Ava, "Mine? He doesn't get that sneakiness from me," Ava said. "Ok ok, but he gets his smile," Brennan said. Killian came back down, and had his little blue trainers on, attempting to tie them. "Here lad," Brennan knelt down and tied his son's shoes, come on, let's go see if they're here.
Henry pulled up to the house, the moving truck was right behind them, "Brennan," Henry said, greeting him with a smile and shaking his hand, "My wife, Cora," Henry said, "Pleasure, so nice to finally meet you, I hear you helped him find the house," Cora said, "Oh actually that was my wife," Brennan said as he turned, Ava came walking up, "Henry, this is Ava," Brennan said, and they all shook hands, "Where did that boy go?" Brennan asked, "Killian!" Brennan called and Killian ran up, "Oh, Regina," Henry said leading her over too.
"Hi lass, this is my son, Killian, he's exactly your age," Brennan said, Regina looked at the blue eyed dark haired boy, and Killian looked back at her brown eyes and long wavy dark hair. "This is Regina," Henry said, "Hi," Killian said, "Hi," Regina said. Killian gave her a little smirk, the four adults looked down at them, "Killian why don't you escort Regina inside her new house," Brennan suggested, "Ok, come on," Killian said, offering his hand, and Regina looked up at her parents, and shyly took it, following him into her new house. "Well he's a gentleman," Cora smiled.
Cora and Henry had a fair amount of things. Ava and Brennan kindly started to help them, since Brennan had formed a nice friendship with Henry at work. Ava and Cora started to unpack books and put them on the shelves built into the walls surrounding their fireplace. The house was very similar to Brennan and Ava's next door.
"You've got a fair amount of books," Ava said, "Yes, I collected all the fairy tales, always loved their symbolism of hope and magic," Cora said. Ava smiled at her, "Oh Killian loves this one, Peter Pan," Ava held it up to her, "I'm sure he does," Cora giggled. "Where are those kids?" Henry asked.
Killian and Regina were off playing, to the delight of their parents, the two 8 year olds already got along. "You have toy swords?" Killian asked, in surprise, as he spotted it in a box they were unpacking in her room. "Yeah, I have a bow and arrow too," Regina said. "Really?" Killian asked smiling. Brennan came in, "Killian," He said, in a somewhat firm voice, and Killian went to him, Regina watched, "Yes Papa?" He asked, unsure of what he did, "I told you," Brennan smirked. Killian smiled, as his father pat his head, and he went back to Regina.
