Day before school, Killian and Regina by the tree, "What are you doing?" Regina asked, as Killian got out a small pocket knife, he began carving the tree between their growth marks, he carved a 'K' and an 'R' with a heart around it. Regina smiled at him, and kissed him softly. "I really love that thank you, you should always do that," he said, "You scoundrel!" Regina said, "Dashing rapscallion," he smirked.
Next morning
"Come on Regina!! You'll be late!" Cora called upstairs. It was the first day of 8th grade, middle school, for Killian and Regina. Regina was throwing on some jeans and had her long dark hair down. She adjusted her leather shoelace bracelet on her wrist, from Killian, and she had another bracelet, from Killian now. Her other bracelet was a sparkling silver band, and it said "K and R" on it. It was a cute little gift from Killian when they decided they were "Official" boyfriend and girlfriend.
"Killian! Let's go! you have enough gel in your hair I'm sure!" Brennan said calling upstairs, "Coming Coming!" Killian said, "Come on son, lateness, I don't like it," Brennan said, "I know Papa, tick tock," Killian said gathering his stuff, he said goodbye to his mother, and headed out the door with his father, Regina and Henry were outside, "Are you wearing lip gloss?" Henry asked Regina, "Mom said I could," Regina said, "She's fine Henry, she doesn't look like a hooker," Cora said handing Regina a notebook.
Killian grinned at Regina, and the two took hands, "So walking to school, no stops on the way, no dilly dallying and no going in between buildings to kiss," Brennan said, "I like that," Henry said, both fathers looked down at their new teens, "I can handle Killian," Regina said proudly, "What? I'm a gentleman," Killian said, "Sometimes," Regina sassed, "Bye guys, have a good day," Cora said and the pair headed to school.
They both were adorable, wearing jeans, little black boots, each of them, Killian had a blue casual shirt on, and Regina had a white peasant top, they greeted their friends. Killian and Regina were the ones together the longest as friends, knowing each other now 6 years. They officially called themselves Girlfriend and boyfriend for a while, but of course things got real at the end of the summer, when they both admitted they felt different around each other. Now they didn't have every class together, and would have to separate from time to time, which they were fine with.
Killian was getting tall, as was Regina, she was still not above him, and likely wouldn't be, she had her glasses still, just for reading, Killian wasn't there to be involved, but at this stage no one was picking on Regina about glasses. Killian pretty much shut that down back when she first got them. Actually Killian already had a reputation among their classmates, mess with Regina, you mess with him.
This was the last year in this particular school, then they would move up to the high school, which another middle school combined with, so they would have new people the following year, but for now, they were with familiar classmates. The boy that consistently bothered Regina years before, was silent now, and avoided Killian like the plague, if Killian ever caught him looking at Regina, he would give him an evil grin.
Killian had a group of guys that he hung out with, David being his best mate, they were all on the soccer team. Regina was going to do track and she had some more female friends she started socialize with, but Mary Margaret was her closest friend. They all hung out together at lunch and after school.
Killian had soccer practice, and Regina had track, the fields were right next to each other. At one point someone tackled Killian, and he went down on the ground, the coach ran up, but of course from the other side of the field, Regina saw, and ran over to him. Her dark ponytail bouncing on her head, and in her track outfit, she knelt down, "Killian!" Regina said, "Ah, I'm alright, how many times do I have to tell you, I'm a survivor," Killian smirked. Regina smiled and sighed at him, "Ok that's enough for you today Jones, go take a break," the coach said pulling him up, he sort of limped, and Regina supported him, "You know as I get bigger you won't be able to help me," Killian said.
