"You ok?" Henry asked, as Cora wrapped up a gift for Regina, "I can't believe she's 16, Killian too," Cora sighed. "I know, seems only yesterday they lost their baby teeth together," Henry said.

Killian and Regina were in their sophomore year now, and of course Killian just got more protective since their summer attack. Graham and Lily avoided Killian and Regina like the plague, as they both wanted anyway, Milah clearly was just jealous, but frankly, no one was brave enough to threaten the strength of Killian and Regina's bond.

Ava and Cora wanted to do a ball for Regina and Killian, nothing too huge, but they felt that 16 years old was a pretty big deal. Killian was mainly focusing on the fact that he could drive now. Ava and Cora wanted to do a Sweet 16 ball, and convinced their husbands and the kids to participate. Regina couldn't deny she liked the idea of being a Princess for the evening with a nice gown. Killian was fine with it, and their friends were invited, it wasn't going to be huge, but something special for them, and mainly their parents to do.

"I think this party is really about the dress, and for you guys," Killian said, "How so?" Ava asked, "Well, Regina gets to dress up, and you guys are proud you raised us," Killian said. "That's part of it, we do get some credit for having you," Brennan said, "Technically I had him, 15 hours of labor," Ava said, "Ok, Raising then, I definitely helped there, and I helped make him," Brennan smirked. Killian rolled his eyes and headed out to go next door to Regina's.

"Oh Killian, Blue is ok right? It will match Regina's dress," Cora said. "Mom leave him alone," Regina said, "It doesn't really matter what he wears, he's the guy, by the way Killian, father gets first dance at her sweet 16 ball," Henry said. "Henry, blue goes the best," Cora insisted, "I'll wear blue then," Killian said, "Smart move," Henry said.

Ava and Cora were probably the most excited about this event, "You are more excited today than when we got married," Brennan said, "Oh that's not true, this is different," Ava said. "Why?" Brennan asked, "Well, we have a son, who is so much like you, and he's in love, with someone we approve, so this is sort of like a pre wedding," Ava said. "Oh dear, I'm glad we have the son, and don't have to pay for that epic event," Brennan said. "We are going to help when that time comes," Ava said. "Oh yeah?" Brennan smirked, "Yeah, come on," Ava said kissing him, "You know that's how we got him, that cute little look of yours when you wanted to have a baby," he smiled.

Sweet 16 Ball

"I feel like a princess," Regina said staring into the mirror, "You certainly look like one, here," Cora put a floral tiara on her head, "Wow," Regina smiled, "and I have something," Henry said and Regina turned around, her father was in awe looking at her, Henry walked forward, and placed a necklace around her, it was a golden book, and had tiny writing, 'Believe in Fairy Tales'. "Thank you," Regina smiled, and Henry kissed her head, "You have your other man outside," Henry smiled.

Regina came out, "Wow, you look..." he said, "I know," she smirked, "Like a real princess," he said. She took his arm, he was handsome as ever in his blue suit, it matched her quite well. They had pictures taken, and their 25 guests, and parents of course, had a great time. "You are certainly like your mother, a natural," Henry said as he spun Regina, "Come on you, a dance with your mother is only fair," Ava said, Brennan smirked, and Killian took his mother on the floor while Henry was dancing with Regina.

"You two look like Snow White and Prince Charming," Cora smiled at David and Mary Margaret, "Thank you, Regina, I got you something special," Mary Margaret holds out a small box, and the girls head off, "Well?" Killian smirks at David, "Shut up, I got you nothing," David laughs.

Killian was now his mother's height, and developing into a very strong young man. He remembered all his parents taught him about dancing, "Ok ok," Ava said and they swayed over to Henry and Regina, "May I?" Killian asked holding out his hand, "I suppose," Henry said handing Regina over.

The parents all watched as their now 16 year olds danced around. "I can't believe it all worked out like this," Cora said. "I know, here we were worried about them being friends at all at the age of 7, I thought Killian would say she had cooties," Ava said. "I know, Regina too, but they immediately clicked, like they were always meant to be," Cora said. "You know I trust him to her," Ava said, "I know, and I trust her to him," Cora said.

Killian and Regina couldn't really resist a sweet kiss at their party. They walked around, and socialized to friends, "Hey," Regina tugged Killian off to the side, "here," Regina handed him a box, "What's this?" he asked, "Well you turned 16 too, and look at what you've given me, so here," Regina said.

He opened it, and inside was a necklace, a sword on a chain, "Wow, nice," Killian said, "Yeah, because you always fight to protect me," Regina said, "Us," he smiled, she turned it over showing him the back, and it had an 'R' and 'K' on it. "Just like our tree," he smiled. "And my bracelet," Regina said. He smiled and kissed her gently. "Thank you, I love it, and you," he said. He put it on, and that was definitely never coming back.

The following week

"No no no no, out of the question," Brennan said, "Come on, Regina and I are 16, we can stay alone for two nights while you all go away," Killian said, "No," Ava said crossing her arms, "Your aunt is coming, and hers as well," Brennan said, "Can Regina at least stay here? It is a weekend and since we are going to be supervised," Killian said, "We will ask Henry and Cora but that should likely be fine," Ava said.

Brennan, Ava, Henry and Cora were going away on a two night adult vacation, Brennan's sister Dawn, and Cora's sister, Rebecca, was coming to chaperone Killian and Regina. "Hello!" She came in happy as ever, "Well I guess I'm responsible to make sure there is no little Unexpected Jones made over the weekend," Dawn winked. She was definitely a cool aunt, as was Cora's Sister, Rebecca, but Dawn was younger, so Killian and Regina didn't really mind.

Their parents left, and Dawn ordered pizza and the three all chilled on the couch watching scary movies, Regina burying herself into Killian's chest at every scary moment. The doorbell rang, making Regina scream and jump into Killian's arms. Dawn laughed, and quickly paused the movie and headed to the door.

Dawn opened the door, it was a police officer....

Dawn's face dropped hearing the news that the officer gave to her, Killian and Regina came out of the living room wondering where she was, "Aunt D? What is it?" Killian asked, Dawn's tears streamed down her face, as she clutched her hand over her mouth, "Killian, Regina... it's your parents," Dawn said.
