Killian and Regina, or as their parents called them, Peanut butter and jelly were doing well in school. The kids were both into the same things, same music, movies, and everything. Killian wasn't so much into Princess movies like Regina, but he would deal with it if they happened to be hanging out on an inside type of day. The shoelace that Killian had tied on her wrist almost a year ago now, was wearing out, but she still wore it, and wouldn't take it off.

Their innocent first kiss was something they would giggle about, their parents knew about it, and thought it was just sweet, Brennan was somewhat proud of his son about it. He was indeed his father's miniature self. "He gets that charm from you, and it's going to get him in trouble one day," Ava said. "With Regina, I find that unlikely, you notice that he goes over my lap far less than he did, before he met Regina, aside from the slingshot incident," Brennan said. "Well girls tend to bring out the best in men," Ava said, "Oh," Brennan smirked at her, "You brought out the best in me, I think," Brennan said, "You're still a scoundrel," Ava said. "Still? I thought I was at the least upgraded to Dashing Rapscallion," Brennan said.

Killian and Regina did their homework together everyday, "Come on Regina, please?" Killian asked her, he was having trouble in a certain subject, and became rather lazy and didn't want to do it. "But if I do it, you won't learn it," Regina said, "Not true, I can, I just didn't do it, and now it's due, and now I don't have time," Killian said, "Fine, but what if we get in trouble?" Regina asked, "We won't, they won't catch us," Killian said.

Regina reluctantly did Killian's assignment, and after school, the teacher called them inside. Her name was Miss Belle. Regina looked at Killian nervously, "Now, I have to say this handwriting, bit neater than I'm used to from you Killian," the teacher said. "Umm," Killian didn't really have an excuse. "It looks like Regina's," she said. The two kids sighed, "Is it?" She asked, "Yes," they admitted, they couldn't really lie at that point.

The teacher called their parents of course, and Cora was finishing up work, and came to get them. She wasn't pleased, "Regina, you know better," Cora said.

Cora took Regina home, and Killian went inside with his mother. Brennan had yet to come home, Killian had about 2 hours to think about his impending doom. "Mum, I'm sorry," Killian said, "Your punishment, Cora and I already discussed, through text after your little incident, she and I agree you and Regina will not be doing homework together after school for a week, or longer, if your fathers think more is necessary," Ava said.

"What?" Killian asked, "If you are going to ask her to do it for you, then you will not do it together," Ava said, "And that is not something a friend would do," Ava said, "A friend wouldn't save someone?" Killian asked, "I mean you, if you cared about her, you wouldn't have let her do something for you, when you knew it was wrong. It was unfair of you to ask her that, she wanted to help you," Ava said. "Yes Mum," Killian sighed.

"Papa is going to kill me," Killian said, "Well not kill you, I won't let him do that, but he will most likely put you over his knee," Ava said, "Can't you stop him?" Killian asked, "You'll have to see son, and accept the consequences," Ava said. Brennan came home, and Killian was of course already nervous about this.

At Regina's, "But Dad!" She protested, "No, that's it, you and Killian will not do homework together a week, unless Brennan wants more," Henry said, "But I won't do it again," Regina said, "I know you won't, but this will ensure that Killian works on whatever is difficult, with his parents, and you won't be there to save him from this," Henry said. "I just wanted to help," Regina said, "I know sweetie, you wanted to be the hero, and we love how close you two are, but you can't do that," Henry said.

At Killian's, "Come here, now," Brennan said very angrily to Killian, he sighed, and went to his father, "You know, I was just telling your mother you got this punishment a lot less with Regina around, I suppose this will be making up for it," Brennan said. "Can't I just not get this part?" Killian asks. "I'm listening son," Brennan crosses his arms, but considers himself a fair father to hear his son out.

"Well, can I go say Sorry to Regina? And maybe that makes up for it?" He asks. Brennan has a soft spot for this boy, he's so much like him. Brennan looks at his sweet face and his blue eyes that match his mother, "You know in my day my father would have taken off his belt, I never do that do I?" He asks. "No," Killian shakes his head, "But you think I shouldn't even give you hand punishment?" Brennan asks. Killian shifts uncomfortably, his father is pretty strong and can certainly give him a good hiding. "Alright, I won't spank you, I do want you to act more like a man, and you're handling it that way, so I suppose I should not give that punishment, this time," he holds up his finger, "Let's go to Regina's," he said.

"I'm sorry Regina, I shouldn't have asked you to do that for me," Killian said, "It's ok," Regina said. Henry and Brennan nodded to each other, confirming their agreement. Killian and Brennan headed home,  "Papa, would you?" He asked, "No, I would never hit you with the belt, dinner, go," Brennan said with a chuckle. "And Killian," he stopped him, "Just because I said I wouldn't, doesn't mean I can't," Brennan said, giving his son a firm look. "Yes, Sir," Killian said.

Killian and Regina couldn't do homework together a week, which they both hated, but they didn't argue. They still spent time at school, and if they finished homework early enough before dinner, their parents let them go outside and play in the treehouse.

"Did he spank you?" Regina asked, "No, I got to come say sorry," Killian said. "Kids dinner!" Ava yelled up the treehouse, Cora was waiting below for Regina, "The 5 days is up, you may do homework again after school, but..."Ava said, "We will never cheat like that again," Killian said, "Promise," Regina said.

Next day after school, the kids get together at Regina's house to do their homework, "Miss me?" Killian smirked, Regina rolled her eyes.

Killian and Regina had begun another summer, they were 11, so their parents gave them a bit more freedom. Cora was home just in case and they spent most days fairly close to the house and rode their bikes wherever else they wanted to go.

Their fathers were planning a little sailing trip for them, to give Ava and Cora a nice relaxing weekend alone.

"Mom, can Killian and me go to town on our bikes for sailing stuff?" Regina asked. "My papa gave me money," Killian said, "and dad gave me some," Regina said. "Yes, here," Cora handed them a spare cell phone, in case of emergency, they only let them take it when they left the property.

Killian and Regina hopped on their bikes, and rode into town, it was only a mile.

In the store, Killian and Regina looked around, "here it is," Killian said, picking up a small telescope, he looked through it, "you look like a pirate," Regina said. "How much is this?" Killian asked the clerk, "that is 20 dollars young man," he said. "I think I have enough," Killian said starting to get money out, he had a five dollar bill, six ones and started to get out a bunch of coins, "about four dollars short son," the man said, Regina put five dollars on the counter, "wow, really?" Killian asked her, "sure we're both going," she smiled. He smiled and the man smiled down at him and took the money.

The two headed back to Regina's house, and put their bikes away, and headed for the treehouse, before climbing up, Killian kissed Regina's cheek, "what was that for?" She asked with a smile, "for making up the rest so we could buy it," he smirked.
