"Mom and Dad left for work early?" River asked when she got downstairs and Owen nodded before taking in his sisters outfit.

"Don't. Don't do it, Wen. I'll punch you," River warned and Owen smirked.

"Ok, Ok, Dionne Davenport," Owen said while smirking and River punched him in the stomach, Owen groaned before clutching his torso.

"Stop calling me characters from popular 90's movies and tv programs," River said and Owen shrugged.

"Stop dressing like characters from popular 90's movies and Tv programs," Owen retorted and River glared at him before grabbing her backpack and walking out of the house.

"Who will win in a fight, a grizzly bear or a polar bear?" River asked Jughead as he walked her to her locker.

"Because of global warming probably a grizzly bear." Jughead said and River nodded in agreement.

"Dude, you've gotta let me stay over your house tonight. My dad's old bed is so uncomfortable and I like your mothers cooking," Jughead said and River laughed.

"Yeah, you should be able to sleep over tonight," River said and before Jughead could thank her Owen approached the two of them at River's locker.

"I got invited to a Halloween costume party," Owen said and River raised an eyebrow at him.

"Who invited you?" River asked and and Owen shrugged.

"Ginger. She said I could bring people. So you guys are coming," Owen said and River and Jughead both shook their heads.

"I don't costume. I'm not dressing up," Jughead said and River nodded in agreement.

"Woah, really River? Veronica is going to be there," Owen said and River's eyes widened.

"So should I go as wonder women, or a powderpuff girl?" River asked and Jughead shook his head at her while Owen laughed. Before anyone could speak Reggie approached them.

"River Sinclair, Looking gorgeous, as usual," Reggie said and River had to stop herself from cringing.

"Thanks, Reggie," River said quietly before looking for her math book in her locker.

"So, how about I take you out tonight?" Reggie asked and River sighed. Since the beginning of the year Reggie has asked her out five times.

"Sorry, Reg, I'm not interested," River said still not looking at him and ruffling through her locker and Reggie gently grabbed her wrist so she could stop.

"It's just a date. I know you want too. Stop playing hard to get," Reggie said and River shot her brother and Jughead a pleading.

"Look, first of all, How about you get your hand off my sister," Owen said while pulling Reggie's hand off River's wrist.

"Second of all, she said she's not interested, dude." Owen said and Reggie scoffed.

"Who do you think you're talking to outcast? I was talking to River, not her adopted freak of a brother," Reggie said and Owen shot him a look.

"Really? Name calling? My sister said she's not fucking interested. Walk away," Owen said stepping up to Reggie and River face palmed, she knew Reggie would beat her brother to pulp. Reggie smirked before looking at River.

"What's up with you? I've asked you out six times and each time you've declined, and I know I'm not the problem so it has to be you. You're a beautiful girl, River, there's no denying that and I know I'm not the only guy that's asked you out. So whats the problem, Riv?" Reggie asked and River looked down at her shoes.

"Dude, she said she's not interested, leave her alone," Jughead said finally getting involved and Reggie ignored him before continuing.

"Woah, River Sinclair, you're not gay are you?" Reggie said with a smirk and River shook her head.

"Pick me up at eight," River said and Reggie smirked before walking away. Owen and Jughead turned to look at River.

"River, you didn't have to do that. I could've taken him," Owen said and River shot him a look.

"He would've snapped you in half," River said and Owen shrugged.

"Riv, you didn't have to do that. It's not too late to cancel," Jughead said and Owen nodded in agreement.

"Guys, I'll be fine. It's just a date," River said before closing her locker and walking away.
