Chapter Thirteen- River Your Jealous is Showing.

Owen and Jughead were playing video games in the basement while River sat on the basement couch doing homework and eating grapes and well, sulking.

"Hey, Riv?" Owen said not taking his eyes off the television screen.

"What?" River asked rudely not looking up from her biology text book. She was slyly jealous that Owen was flirting with Veronica today at school.

"Do you ever think about your real parents?" Owen asked and River scoffed before shaking her head.

"Nope." River said while moving onto the next homework question.

"I've been thinking about contacting mine." Owen said and River looked up from her textbook to look at her brother.

"Why? They don't want you." River said and Jughead's jaw dropped at Rivers bluntness while Owen just rolled his eyes.

"Woah, Riv, you couldn't soften the blow?" Jughead asked and River just rolled her eyes before looking at Jughead.

"How am I supposed to soften the blow? His parents didn't want him and my parents didn't want me. That's it," River said and Jughead shot her a look of shock while Owen just shrugged.

"Jug, she's just mad because Veronica said that me and her might have chemistry," Owen said smugly and River rolled her eyes before throwing a grape at his head.

"We are probably going to make out soon, so you might as well stop trying to get her now," Owen said smugly and River rolled her eyes.

"Yup, I'm not going to listen to this. I'm going to Pop's," River said before closing her biology book and leaving the basement but not before using her biology book to hit Owen on the head.

Jughead paused the game before looking at Owen.

"What's up with her?" Jughead asked and Owen shrugged before grabbing the bowl of grapes.

"Maybe it's her time of the month," Owen said and Jughead just shrugged before pressing play on the game.

River was sitting in a booth at pops with earphones in as she worked on her homework when someone sat opposite her. She briefly looked up and took her earphones out when she saw who sat down.

"Why are you sitting in pop's doing homework?" Veronica asked and River shrugged before responding.

"I just needed to get out of the house," River said and Veronica nodded.

"My brother kept on going on and on about who you guys have chemistry," River blurted and she immediately wanted to face palm. Veronica laughed before nodding.

"I said we may have chemistry. Why are you jealous?" Veronica joked with a smirk and River awkwardly looked down at her biology book.

"Yeah, kinda." River admitted and Veronica's eyes widened in shock before she nodded and smiled at her.

"So you're basically telling me that-" Veronica began but she was interrupted by Pop's voice.

"Order for Lodge!?" Pop Tate said from behind the counter and Veronica nodded.

"Well, that's me. I'll see you tomorrow at school," Veronica said before sliding out of the booth and going to get her order.

It took River a few seconds to realise what just happened before her eyes widened in shock. She had just come out to Veronica.
