It's been two days since River came out to the school and so far it's been her biggest regret. People have been staring at her while she walked down the hallway and football players have called her a 'Dyke' and a 'Fag' plenty of times. She has also cried in the girls toilets at lunch time Betty being the only one to comfort her. River has avoided Veronica like the plague, she hasn't been ready to deal with her yet.

River was standing in the girls locker room changing into her gym clothes. The girls in the locker room are acting a bit weird upon finding out River's sexuality apart from Cheryl and Veronica.

Cheryl approached River and River raised an eyebrow at her.

"Cheryl?" River asked her in confusion and Cheryl just chuckled.

"Don't look so shocked. Just because we've never spoken before doesn't mean I don't like you. I like you better than you're joke of a brother," Cheryl said and River just raised an eyebrow at her. Veronica watched, from across the room, as the two talked and furrowed her eyebrows.

"Thank you?" River said but it came out more like a question and Cheryl just nodded.

"So, word on the street is that your gay?" Cheryl said and River just shrugged.

"Something like that," River muttered and Cheryl nodded.

"I've also heard that something is going on between you and Veronica?" Cheryl asked and River shook her head.

"No, the Veronica thing, might not happen," River said before quickly glancing over her shoulder to look at Veronica who was already looking at her.

Cheryl nodded before putting her hand in Rivers hair and gently stroking her cheek. River shot her a look of confusion.

"What the fuck-" River began but Cheryl interrupted her, while playing with her hair.

"Relax. I'm helping you. The truth is River, I like you." Cheryl said and Rivers eyes widened.

"Not like that calm down. But you've always been nice. We have never spoken, but when Jason died you brought me a card and an Orchid, which are in fact a sympathy plant. You didn't even say anything stupid that will make me feel worse. You just placed the card and the plant on my desk in homeroom and walked back to your assigned seat. You didn't mention it and neither did I. I never got to thank you for that," Cheryl said still playing with River's hair.

"It sucks when someone you are close to dies. Is that why you being super creepy and stroking my face and hair five months later?" River asked and Cheryl just shook her head.

"Even though your brother is an incompetent twit who gets on my very last nerve. I can stand you, River. I also kind of owe you something-" Cheryl said before River cut her off.
