Could It Be

Chapter 2

Bella's P.O.V.

The taxi drops me off in the middle of my new home. The town is not big and I think the best thing that is here is the diner towards the end of town. There's no movie theater, mall, or whatever kids find fun. The town does have a library though so I am pretty happy and excited about that.

I pay the driver what I owe him and he quickly drives off. So here i am a stranger standing in the middle of this small town and I can already feel people staring and talking about me. I try to shake it off and head towards the diner thats close by, the ine I was just talking about.

As soon as i enter the diner everybody in there stops what they are doing and looks at me. You could probably hear a mosquito fart in the room if there was one. A few seconds later they snap out of it and continue wbat they were doing but kept looking towards me.

"Hi if you would just walk over to the table in the center there ill be right over to you." I lady says as she's cleaning a menu.

I nod my head and walk to the table and sit down. I look around the diner and see that people are staring at me and some are whispering about me. I don't see what the problem is cant they just ignore me like everyone else does, it woukd make things easier on me and them.

"Alright heres the menu and what would you like to drink today?" The lady comes up behind me and asks.

I jump alittle and then start to panic slightly because how am I going to let her know what I want to drink when I can't talk. I quickly grab the menu and point towards the word Dr. Pepper and she nods her head and walks away and i assume starts making me my drink.

I flip through the menu and decide to get just a hamburger and some fries. I then grab the notepad from my bag and start writing down what I need to ask her when she comes back.

"Here you go and do you know what you woukd like for dinner?" She asks me.

I nod my head and point towards the hanmburger and she nods her head and writes it down.  "Alright is there anything else i can get you?" She asks.

I was wondering if there is any place here in town with a place to rent an apartment or somewhere cheap.

"Um yeah let me plafe your order in and then let me get you the phone number for the apartments just down the road." She sags and walks off.

I sit there and she comes back with the phone number to the place and directions to where it is. Thank goodness she gave me directions because that would have been an awkward phone call since i cant talk and all.

My food comes out five minutes later and i quickly eat and pay then head out the door and start making my way to the apartments. The food was actually really good and i can see why it was so busy. The food was also cheap so its a good deal all around.

Five minutes later i arrive at the office for the apartments. I stand outside for a few minutes to catch my breath and to calm my nerves a little. As soon as i calm down i get the notepad out and write my question down and walk into the office.

"Hi are you wishing to rent an apartment from me. We have some open." The man behind the counter says.

I walk up and show him what I wrote and he instantly nods his head and hands me a key and tells me to enjoy and that if i need anything to come down and tell him. I nod my head and smile at him gratefully and head to my new home for awhile.

I unlock the door and look into my new place. Its not very big but its only me so I don't need a big place. The bed is neat and the place is clean. I walk all of the way in and sit down on the chair that's in the living room part of thd room. I look around and soak in the feeling of my new home.

Its a big change but i hope it turns out alright.

Esme's P.O.V.

It was my turn to pick.where we were going to be staying for a few years and I decided that we all go back to Forks. I always loved the town and i loved the forest that surrounded our place so i decided that's where I'd like to visit again. Plus the weather is perfect for my family and we have no worries there.

My family consists of everyone having their mate except me. It gets lonely but I try and deal with it. We are vegetarian vampires so that means we only drink animal blood. So we have Alice and Jasper, Carlisle and Edward, and last but nkt least Rosalie and Emmett. Edward, Alice, Jasper, Rosalie, and Emmett all go to school while Carlisle is a doctor and I am an architect. Carlisle and I are seen as the parents in the family but thats just to everyone else.

I have been this way for one hundred and forty years and still havent flund my other half. It sucks being in a house of couples because it makes me lose my hope that I may never find my other half. Jasper can feel my emotions so i try not to let them knkw how i really feel about their show of affection to each other. Edward can see what I'm thinking so I try and block him out but sometimes the two of them see how I feel and look at me with pity and apologize immediately for causing me to feel loneliness. Honestly i can't blame them though because I'm sure if i had my mate I'd be the same as them.

As soon as we enter Forks I can feel that something is different but I can't quite pick out what it is. Nobody else in my famiky notices it so I put it off as being paranoid. Angwya the school already knows of the kids coming and they start school Wednesday.

Oh i hope everything will go smoothly for the next few years that we are here.
