"Anne has a tumor"

Why didn't she want me to know?

Why doesn't she want Julie to know?

Why did she only tell Luis?

Questions have been going through my mind since I left Dr. M's office but I haven't found an answer to any of them.

I stop my car &park right in front of Anne's house & I notice both her mom &sister's car are in the driveway.

Should I tell her that I know?

Or should I wait till she decided to tell me?

I start walking towards Anne's front door but every step I take forward feels like I'm walking in place. I arrive at the front of her door &i decide to knock but Anne's image of the day I saw her with her IV came to my mind.

What if Anne doesn't want me to see her?

What if Anne really took our "break up" serious?

I'm debating whether I should knock or leave... I think I'll just leave.

I start walking back to my car until I heard someone call my name.

"Luke?"

I turn around &i see Isaac coming out of the house.

"I saw your car from my window" she pointed at her room "why are you leaving?"

"I don't know if Anne wants to see me Isaac..... since she didn't tell me anything"

"So you know?"

I nodded in response because I couldn't talk. My throat was dry &had a huge lump that if I swallowed or talked I would choke.

"Luke, come in &see her" Isaac looked at me with pleading eyes "the doctors didn't go as planned.... please"

"What happened?" I managed to get out

"We found out that Surgery won't help her, nor would chemo, it-"

"Will only kill her" I finished for her. it felt like I was at Dr. M's office again &hearing everything for the first time "yeah I know"

"Luke please come in" she grabbed my hand &started pulling me towards the door "I beg you..." Her voice started to break & I noticed that she was crying.

I held her hand &brought her to me &gave her a hug. She right away wrapped her arms around my waist &held on tight almost knocking my air out, but then I started to feel her tears going through my shirt.

"Isaac..."

"Luke what's...going to happen when....she is gone?" She said through her sobs "I don't want to loose my best friend Luke. What are we going to do?" she said as she laid her head on my chest.

"Isaac look at me" I cupped her face &made her look at me. Her brown eyes are now red from crying &her mascara was running down her cheeks "Anne wouldn't want to see you like this, okay. We are going to get through this day by day. She is perfectly healthy &fine for now so we are okay. Let's worry about "that" later"

She nodded a "okay" &hugged me again. I didn't rush her on letting me go, I knew she needed someone to talk to so I waited till she was okay &let me go.

"Thank you Luke" she whispered as she let go of me "are you going to come in?"

"Yeah I am, &here" I pulled out a napkin from my pocket "your mascara is all over" I gave her a small laugh &she gave me a small chuckle.
