Scarlet POV*
My day started like any other that year. Like I did almost every Sunday a week I was walking home from the library seeing as it was a nice day and figured a walk would be nice and do me some good seeing as I didn't do it much with work and such, any way as I was cutting through the park I decided to find a good tree before I climbed it and settled down to read one of my books, "Nightshade" by Andrea Creamer one of my favorite supernatural books about wolves. Having gotten comfortable in the tree its not long before i'm completely lost i'm my book when I suddenly heard a whistling sound before my book was knocked out my hand and in turn, me out the tree as I lost balance and letting out a short scream from shock.
As I fall a part of me welcomes the idea of the death I could receive from failing from such a height but another part won't allow it as I'm suddenly wide awake and highly a wear of the soft tingles rampaging in my body and the feel of strong, warm arms pulling me into a tight embrace moments before I could reach my death and the embrace only tightened when we touched the ground.
When I looked into my saviors eyes I saw many questions swimming in them before the one thing I was looking for was found.
The discuss of a dragon for a vampire. An high ranking dragon at that. His eyes set hard and focused was an amazing light brown compared to my dark brown ones matching mine in complete shock and bewilderment. Looking at the man who just saved, restarted and possibly may be the end of my life moved his lips saying something but before the words could register in my head as black spot's filled my vision. Pain was becoming know to me as I felt something run down my face that I figured was blood from the copper smell but none of that bothered me as much as the soft electric tingles I could feel from where the dragons hand was on my arm as I blacked out.

Kai POV*
"Hey boss!" My best friend growing up and second in charge Max said smiling as I ran into him heading for my car.
"Hey Max, wanna go to the park and hang a while?" I asked him holding up a frisbee.
"Only if you ready to lose bro." With that he jumped in my car and we left.
My day started like any other. I was finished early with my work so taking my friend with me I figured a ride around town and relaxing in town would be cool for once. as Max and I played around there was a sent that was driving me crazy and I couldn't figure out what in the world it was but not paying attention I was dragged out my thoughts as the frisbee flew over my head into a tree.
"My bad, I got it!"
About to go up the tree I was surprised when a book fell down hitting me in the head the same time I heard a scream pulling at my immediate attention. Looking up, I put my arms out on instinct as I saw a girl falling out the tree behind the book that hit me. The second I touched her skin I knew this girl was my mate as soft tingles ran threw my hand that was supporting her upper body holding her tightly to me. The girl in my arms was beautiful as I looked over her. When she opened her eyes to look up at me I was stunned. She had deep brown eyes that seemed to search mine as she looked me in the eyes before her once confused and bewildered eyes held nothing and it was that second as I took in her sent that I realized that my mate was not human but a vampire. At the thought of vampires I felt poison on my tongue.
"Hey are you okay vampire?" I asked trying not to make a face at the word, but all I got was her slowly passing out almost right after I saw blood start to run down her face.
"Max get the car we have to leave!" I yelled looking back to see him playing with someones dog before I picked up the frisbee and her fallen book then walking to him with them and her in my arms.
