Chapter 9

Kai POV*

Knowing that my mate grew up with the wrong childhood I knew she acted in unpredictable ways some times but as she held the look of a younger girl than what she is if made a part of me happy that I am able to be the one that get's to fix the beautiful broken vampire in my arms. Looking Scarlet in the eyes I gave her a light kiss then put my hands on her shoulder's with a deep breath.

"No. Scar we need to talk about what happened to you and Emilio." I told her and she looked at me then sighed slapping a hand over her face then getting off my lap and grabbing her clothes as I got up.

"I was hopping to make you forget about that I told you it was taken care of." She said as I followed her to the room but stopped, turning around as she started to get dressed. I wanted to look but now was not the time for mating.

"How could I forget Scar? My mate and friend was nearly killed and or kidnapped!" I said turning to look at her only to see her pull down her shirt and looking at me with a rebellious fire in her eyes.

"I said. We was okay. I saved Emil and I killed the people that attacked us. It's simple and that's all Kai." It was more than clear of the anger in her voice but the look on her face only made my dragon want to take her more. Growling we had her laid out on the bed under us in seconds with her hands over her head.

"Scarlet why wont you just trust us to take care of you?"I asked feeling my eyes change and seeing her's turn red as she showed us her fangs.

"Maybe cause I don't need to be taken care of Kai. Now let go of me!" Scarlet resisted my hold but a normal vampire is not even close to as strong as a king of dragons. I watched her try to pull her wrist from my hands but never getting them free as she seemed to get more and more frustrated before she just screamed.

'Kai is there something wrong with the princess? We can hear her scream way over here.' Ace asked in the mind link.

'It's okay I got her' I told him then cut the link. Scarlet had her eyes closed now as she breath hard short breaths and tears wetting her eyes but not falling. I sighed before slowly letting go of her hands.

"Scarlet, You are my mate and it's my job as your mate to take care of you. We take care of each other. I can't know all of what you feel until we fully mate then I can see what you see and feel your pain like it's my own so for now you just have to talk to me. Please talk to me Scarlet." I put a hand to the side of her face and waited for her to look at me.

"I called you Kai. I tried to mind link you and tell you we needed a hand and that Emil was hurt and you didn't answer. Your link was blocked." Her eyes was clouded and her anger was relentless.

"Im sorry Scar." I told her and she only rolled her eyes looking away.

"We got to the house, talked while I got a few clothes, then Neon still having control went down stair's to get a blood bag for me and food for him but not long after he left I was grabbed by some guy's and heard him yell. I called to him and he sounded hurt so naturally I hit the two guy's and transported down to Neon but Emil had taken over again and some how was stabbed. Seeing his blood pissed me off I guess and I just went bat crazy. I saw red and attacked. I crushed their bones, bit them and drained their blood in less than minutes. Their blood gave me a rush and I wanted more but I had to get Emilio safe so I left and took him back here just before you guy's opened the door. Now that is all, Kai." She gave me one final look and I nodded before laying down right on top of her with my head on her chest and she tensed. I closed my eyes as I took in her sent.

"You wouldn't believe how worried I was when I found how many hours you two was gone." I told her honestly and I could hear her heart beat wild in her chest.
